AFUHSD Remote Learning Meal Service
* Important Update - Effective September 1st
To service more of our students, our district will be discontinuing our bus stop meal service and switching over to home delivery. The Food Service and Transportation Department are teaming up and launching our new program, Blue Bird Eats. This service begins September 1st.
* Please note that parents/students need to complete a free and reduced meal application for the current school year. If the Food Services Department does not receive a new application, students will lose their meal benefits on September 11th, 2020. The link with application information is listed below.

All of the sessions are hosted through Zoom, which should be accessible via computer, tablet and smart device. Please see the schedule below. You MUST register for the sessions you wish to attend. This will be a great opportunity for any high school student and parent, 9th through 12th grade.

Advisory, ECAP and Naviance
Advisory class is offered weekly on Mondays. Students will connect with teachers for full group support and 1-on-1 meetings.
Each student is required to have an Education and Career Action Plan (ECAP).
An ECAP (Education and Career Action Plan) reflects a student’s current plan of coursework, career aspirations, and extended learning opportunities in order to develop the student’s individual academic, career goals and postsecondary plans. - AZ Department of Education
Naviance is a virtual platform that serves as a digital portfolio to document each student's ECAP. Students will use their Naviance account all four years of high school.
9th Grade Advisory - Counselor Lesson on 8/31/20
1. Identify your counselor and understand their role on campus.
2. Know the AFUHSD graduation requirements and how to interpret a high school transcript.
3. Understand the importance of your grades and how to calculate your GPA.
This presentation will also be shared in the Freshmen Google Classroom (join code - mv2dsq7).
10th and 11th Grade Advisory - Counselor Lesson on 8/31/20
1. Complete the "Do What You Are" survey to discover potential career opportunities based on responses about personal preferences and interests.
2. Learn how to sign up for a virtual college visit by using Naviance.
Additionally, juniors will make a list of ways to get involved after watching a video in Naviance.
Presentations will be shared via Google Classroom as well.

12th Grade Advisory - Counselor Lesson on 8/31/20
1. Request an official transcript through Naviance.
2. Sign up for a virtual college visit through Naviance.
3. Understand financial aid and how to apply for the FAFSA (see video presentation below).

TESTING INFORMATION
Advanced Placement (AP) Tests are scheduled yearly in May. Students enrolled in AP classes this year, should access their College Board account and use the join code for each class. These codes will be shared by the AP Teachers. Once AP students join their My AP Classroom(s), they will have access to AP course resources. Students will also use this platform to order their tests.
* The deadline to order any AP Tests is November 2nd, 2020.
The student fees for AP Tests this year are as follows:
$25 per test
$15 per test (students receiving free/reduced lunch)
The actual cost for each AP Test is $95.
If a student orders a test after the November deadline, the College Board will charge a $40 late order fee per exam.
Payments can be made to the bookstore, although the payment window has not opened yet. Payments should be made prior to the May testing window, by April 1st, 2021.

Universal Student Expectations for Remote Learning Success
At Agua Fria High School, we accept the challenge of creating and delivering the best possible learning experience we are able to provide. In order to accomplish this, we need the full buy-in of all stakeholders including our students and families.
Therefore, we hold these expectations to be integral elements of our successful implementation.
** We expect participants to login to their classes / sessions at the teachers’ direction on time, every time class is in session and to remain logged in for the duration of the class.
** We have the professional expectation for all participants to be appropriately dressed for academic success and follow school dress code on camera.
** We adhere to the professional expectation for participants’ cameras to remain on to ensure participation and to facilitate essential academic discourse.
** Mute yourself upon entering the meeting.
** Post all questions in the text or chat feature of the meeting.
** Remain on topic in class and breakout sessions.
** Remain professional and polite with all verbal communication.
** Advocate for your own learning and monitor your grades in all classes. This includes attending Extended Opportunity Time as requested/needed on Tuesdays & Thursdays.
