Much to be Thankful for!

Measure J Passed! Thank you!!!

By approving Measure J with 72% of the vote, our community reaffirmed their strong, ongoing commitment to high quality education for all students in the Tam District. Thank you all so much. Such strong support is also a message that we are moving in the right direction toward fiscally-responsible management of the community’s tax dollars and we are absolutely committed to continue that work. The District is especially grateful to all of our parent and community volunteers who gave so freely of their time and money to ensure the passage of this important measure. Now we roll up our sleeves and continue the work of teaching and learning this community’s amazing young people!

Thank you for your service

Thank you to the three board trustees who are retiring from their service to the District. Serving as a school board member is a challenging, exhausting and rewarding job. It is a generous act of public service and we are immensely grateful for our three retiring members' dedication to and work for the students of our District. We wish them all the best in their next chapters.

Welcome to our New Board Members

Tam District's 3 new board members will be sworn in at the December 11, 2019 meeting. We are grateful to the new board members for choosing to work with us and look forward to many years of productive collaboration.

Fiscal Advisory Committee Update

The Fiscal Advisory committee has met 5 times since August to gain an understanding of the District's current budget situation, review feedback from a broad array of stakeholders, and begin crafting a budget reduction recommendation for the superintendent to consider.

The Fiscal Advisory committee is an advisory body and is comprised of parent, staff and community representatives. The committee will provide a draft recommendation to the superintendent for review in early January. The District will hold a series of community meetings in January in order to gather another round of feedback on budget reduction considerations. The exact dates of the meetings will be made available in December. For an overview of the timeline and process the District has employed to develop a budget reduction plan, please click here.

The superintendent will provide an overview of a budget reduction plan, based on the recommendation from the Fiscal Advisory committee, to the Board in a workshop at the Tuesday, February 12th board meeting.
