Deliveries?
Parents are requested not to bring items to be delivered to students during the instructional day. In the event that an item is given to the front office, it will be delivered to the student in the manner that least impacts instruction. Parents may not personally make deliveries to classrooms. No flowers or gift items will be delievered until the end of the instructional day.
Students may not have food delivered to school from commercial establishments(Uber Eats, Domino's, etc). Parents may provide meals for their own child's consumption during designated meal times only. In the event a parent delivers a meal for a student to the front office, the student will be allowed to pick it up during his/her lunch time. A parent/guardian may only bring food/drink for their child - a parent/guardian may not bring food/drink for their child's friends.
Thank you for helping!
iPads
Please talk to your students about properly caring for their iPad...here are a few simple solutions:
1) Don't throw your backpack with the iPad in it.
2) Be careful where you are charging it - make sure no can trip on the cord, or if they do, it doesn't fall.
3) Don't put it on the edge of your desk.
We realize that accidents will happen, but we are asking for help in order to prevent as much as possible.

Construction Update!
Demolition of the old weight room has begun! It was a mixture of emotions as we watched it get torn down because we are excited for the new addition, but at the same time, a lot of our students worked their tail off in our old "Rocky" weight room.

Also, if you have not purchased a yearbook yet, time is running out before the price increases.

Basketball Update
The 8th-grade boys played a hard-fought game Monday night against Comfort. The team was led by Tripp Henderson, Brock Morton, and Josh Bailey. Each has stolen multiple passes and taken charges against a hard-fought team. Leading the offense were Brock Morton and Tripp Henderson. The game was close and hard-fought and end with the Vikings losing by Six.
The LVMS 7th grade “B” team posted a win against Ingram at the Warrior Gym, in Ingram on November 29th. The Vikings put on a good showing after putting up 4 points in the 1st quarter, but then went cold in the second and 3rd quarters. Ingram put up their first points in the 4th quarter, tying the contest at 4 points each. The Viking defense prevailed and we put up another 4 points in the 4th quarter to seal the score at 8-4, Vikings favor. We are proud of the performances of all of our players. With the win over Llano in the previous week, our season record is 2-0. The defensive player of the game was Cameron Wright. The Offensive player of the game was Dominic Bailey.
The LVMS 8th grade “B” team also posted a win against Ingram at the Warrior Gym, in Ingram on November 29th. The Vikings put on a clinic for the fans in Ingram. We are proud of the performances of all of our players. The final score of the game was 21-8, Vikings, bringing our season record to 1-1, after a loss suffered in Llano the previous week. The defensive player of the game was Daniel Casburg. The Offensive player of the game was Juan Garcia.
On the girl's side,
7A won 41-20. 7 players scored on the night. Several players recorded multiple assists as well. Defensively we held Comfort to three points in the second half.
8A. Won a nail biter 33-31. Four players scored in the game and everyone contributed to a tough 2-3 zone. The 8th grade group continues to make huge strides from where they were a year ago.
This small group of girls has really been working hard and showing a ton of improvement! Being a beginner team, they fight hard and push themselves the entire game, they don't have a choice with only 5 girls but they do until the very end! Each game they have scored more than the last, which is a goal we set for each game. They are at 0-3 for the season with the most recent loss against Comfort at 6-43 but I am so proud of them and their continued efforts!
7B vs. Comfort
Our 7th grade B team has moved to 2-1 for the season with a victory of 42-2 against Comfort this week! This is the most athletic group I have had thus far! They are successfully applying what they learn in practice and it is really fun to watch! Abby Tristan was our leading scorer with 24 points! They are all working hard and each one of them contributes to the success of this team and we are all so proud of them!
Student Registration Forms
IMPORTANT! PLEASE COMPLETE ANNUAL STUDENT REGISTRATION FORMS IN ASCENDER PARENT PORTAL!
If you have not done so, it is important that you complete the annual registration process ASAP. This must be completed each year because these forms provide us with important permissions and information that must be provided annually. Students without completed registration forms will begin to lose certain privileges until they are completed, so please take a moment to submit those forms in Ascender.
HOW DO I ACCESS PARENT PORTAL?
https://ascportal.esc13.net/ParentPortal/login?distid=227912
¿NECESITA ESPAÑOL?
Todos los formularios de registro también están en español. Para continuar en español, hay un menú desplegable en la esquina superior derecha de la página de inicio de sesión para cambiar al español.
WHAT IF I HAVE A NEWLY ENROLLED STUDENT? WHAT IF DON'T SEE MY ENROLLED STUDENT IN ASCENDER PARENT PORTAL?
If you enrolled your student during summer enrollment, you must still complete annual registration forms. If you don't see your enrolled student when you log in, an Ascender Parent Portal ID is needed in order to link to your student and complete the annual registration forms.
Please email your campus registrar to receive your student's Ascender Parent Portal ID. Please note that there may be slight delays in answering requests during peak times, such as this, but we will get it to you as quickly as possible!
Once you receive your student's Ascender Parent Portal ID from the campus registrar, please log into Ascender Parent Portal, select "Link to Enrolled Student", and enter the Parent Portal ID and the student's date of birth.
WHAT IF I SEE MY STUDENT, BUT DON'T HAVE A "REGISTRATION" OPTION?
In order to complete forms or update data for a student, the email address you have listed in Ascender Parent Portal must match what we have in our system. If you can see your student, but can't update any information, those email addresses do not match. We recommend updating and verifying your email address in Ascender Parent Portal. If you need us to change your email address in our system, please email registration@lagovista.txed.net and your campus registrar. You will be asked to provide your student's full name, date of birth, and grade level for verification purposes.
NEED OTHER HELP?
See the Quick Guide to Setting Up Ascender Parent Portal below for more information or email registration@lagovista.txed.net.
Cell Phones
Please remember that cell phones are not allowed during school hours. Phones must be turned off and in their backpacks. If your child needs to contact you, they may come to the front office to use the office phone or bring their personal phone to the front office, where they are allowed to use it.
If you need to communicate with your child during the day, you can email your child on their ipads, using their school email - firstname_lastname@lvisd.com
Remember that if you call the front office, we will be happy to deliver any messages to your child. Less disruption in the classrooms, the better!

Covid Questions...
A: If your student is determined to be a close contact of a student who has tested positive for COVID, you will be personally notified. If your child is in the same grade level as a student who has tested positive, you will receive an email.
Q: Are masks required?
A: LVISD does not require students, parents, teachers, staff members or visitors to wear masks or face coverings while on district premises. However, the wearing of face masks is allowed and is highly encouraged.
Q: Can I choose for my child to do at-home/remote learning this year?
A: The state has not provided for a funded remote instruction option this school year. Students not at school will be under normal attendance requirements. Exceptions to this are students who are isolated because of a positive COVID result or who are quarantined due to being a COVID close contact.
