Looking For Alaska By John Green

Looking for Alaska is one of the best books I have ever read, and am so glad it was recommended to me by a friend. I first started reading the book with low expectations because I have never heard of John Green before and once I started reading I could not put down the book.

One of the main themes in Looking for Alaska was how to escape the labyrinth of suffering, a question Alaska asks Miles in the beginning of the book. She explains that in life people are going to hurt you, and you are going to make stupid and dumb mistakes and you are going to have to live with these things people and you have done to yourself. This is what I think the book is about and it revolves around that question as you go further into the book. When Alaska dies Miles is stricken with guilt by the fact that he could have prevented her death, but towards the end of the book he really finds the way out of the labyrinth of suffering and that I to forgive.

My final thoughts is that this is a great book that I can not wait to recommend to friends.
