Books! Books! Books! (for Fall Festival)
Did that get your attention? It would get mine!
We want to thank all parents who were able to sign up to work at a book fair. Unfortunately, we were not able to get enough parents to make it work. It is a big project.
Instead, always wanting to get more books to kids, we thought we could have a book exchange during Fall Festival!!! What do you think?
How does this work?
- You go through your bookshelves and find books your family no longer needs. It feels great to let them go!
- You bring your books to the MEA cafeteria next time you are on campus.
- You come to the book exchange and happily see your books going to new homes, and you get to take books your family can use now.
And then, next year, the cycle continues!!

Cake Walk Goodies Request (for Fall Festival)
The ASB needs your help with the Cake Walk at the Fall Festival on November 2! Please consider bringing store bought cupcakes or cookies, still packaged in container. We would really appreciate your help with this event - it is a favorite for many students!
If you'd like to bring goodies in this week, please drop them off on the long counter in the kitchen, or in the front office.
If you plan to bring goodies in on Fall Festival day, November 2, please let Barb Mulvany know at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you so much!
Ryan Bros. Coffee Fundraiser
Tuesday, October 11 - Thursday, October 27
Last week, this is it!! Sell, sell, sell!!
This is our last week of our Ryan Brothers Fundraiser! We need to sell as much coffee, tea and hot chocolate as possible to support our school events. We’ve enjoyed two lunch concerts so far this year -as have many students and parents, and we have our Fall Festival coming up next week! Our ASB puts these events together and uses money raised from fundraisers like this, to support our students and faculty! Help us out by purchasing some items-great for holiday giving!! If a student sells 15 items they will get a wristband good for ALL activities at the Fall Festival! High school students will get a prize as well!
Upcoming activities this year include Field Day, the Color Run and the Talent Show! We always have our end of the year picnic and other onsite events such our lunch concerts which highlight our student musicians!
Please help support us as we build community and fun with our ASB students.

Community Service Hours for High Schoolers at preschool Carnival
Northminster Preschool in Clairemont is giving our high school students an opportunity to earn community service hours AND HAVE FUN! They're looking for volunteers to help with their Wild Wild West Carnival on November 5. Possible duties include working a ride, refilling game booth items, and helping with set up.
Community Service Hours with Pennies for Patients
For students, particularly in high school, here is a chance to begin or expand your community service!
Pennies for Patients is a service learning, character education and philanthropy program that gives students a unique experience making a difference through teamwork—working together to aid thousands of children and adults in the fight against blood cancers like leukemia.
The program takes place any three weeks between September and March. The Pennies for Patients Program raises funds for life-saving research and patient aid, and helps create awareness in the community. Students collect donations over a three-week period. Currency can come from friends, relatives, or even underneath the couch cushions! Many of the patients that benefit are local leukemia patients. There are great incentive prizes, and the Leukemia and Lymphoma society provides all the necessary materials for a fun and rewarding program. Please see Mr. Zappala if you are interested!
