FISD Parent Academy
Frisco ISD parents are invited to the FISD Admin Building on Feb. 15 at 6 p.m. for an important presentation on “The World of Gaming and Technology for Teens: Helping Teens Find Balance Online.”
The reason: Parents often reflect on or struggle with knowing how much time is appropriate online and how to tell if their child is genuinely struggling.
The good news: Not all screen time and technology is bad, but young people can often struggle with self-regulation.
- When kids learn to self-regulate, they better understand the importance of time and how to manage their behaviors and actions.
Presenter Jeremy Edge is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Digital Wellness counselor who is International Gaming Disorder Certified. He will provide guidance about:
- Healthy social media
- How to respond to unhealthy online habits
- Treatment and tools for healthy screen time use
