We had a great week of teaching and learning!
Ms. Bailey executes a guided reading lesson with her first grade students.
Ms. Pierre debriefs with Casey after teaching an awesome guided reading and a strategy group.
The fourth grade team is "ALL IN" and focused on moving their students to the next level!
The Bio-Bus was a success!!! Our 5th Grades students were able to explore more about Animal Diversity

3rd - 5th grade students will take their iReady diagnostic this week!
We will use IReady during our Literacy Test Prep and to measure student growth in Lexile results. Please be sure to actively monitor students during the diagnostic sessions:
- Frequently sweep the room to monitor and guide student pace.
- Provide a purpose and breaks for the students.
- Stay engaged with the students by limiting teacher tasks.
Reading & Writing Units of Study Updates
The 2nd Semester Come Up: All In, Streamlined, & Aligned!
*Read Alouds are facilitated everyday for 15 minutes. Standards-based comprehension strategies are modeled through think alouds.
*Shared Reading is facilitated everyday for 15 minutes. Blast Phonics skills, reading behaviors, and fluency are modeled through think alouds and student participation.
*Mini Lessons are under 15 minutes with explicit demonstrations and student practice.
*At least 2 Small Groups are seen for both Reading and Writing Workshop.
*We are fully released from stations.
*IRead and IReady will be used during RTI for all homerooms.
*Reading Flex Fridays are used for explicit Reading Standards - Based Mini Lessons.
*Writing Flex Fridays are used for explicit Language/Grammar - Based Mini Lessons.

Here are Ms. Perry's Stats:
- Out of the 16 students total enrolled in her Literacy sections, 16 have active accounts in use!
- 94% of students met 45+ minutes of iReady instruction with some students still using iRead.
- The class had a 72% pass rate last week!

Another Round of Math Staff Development is HERE, Ms. Valerie will assist us as we Go for the GOAL
Please review the schedule and be prepared for your observation times. Ms. Valerie will be with us for 2 days to assist us in our March Madness preparation. Please bring all ideas, questions, and suggestions as she sits with us to to brainstorm. We will begin promptly so please arrive on time to debriefing and prep. See Ms. Bentley if you have questions.

*Carry out the CRA model to ensure students are exposed to the Concrete, Representational, & Abstract concepts of the skills
*(SOLVE) Word Problems-Release students to work independently & provide them feedback
*How can we create a spiral review of our prioritized/weak standards? EASY!

Math Highlights of the Week
Ms. Jackson’s 3rd Graders have started Test Prep and the students are collaborating to show what they have know. Interactive & Engaging
Ms. William’s 4th Grade class is putting a little melody into their learning. Each group is creating a song to help remember their skills, I cant wait to hear the final results
