Packed House for Beginner Fall Concert

Thank you so much to everyone who came out and supported our Beginner Band students at their first performance of the year! It was a packed house and we loved sharing what we've been working on in class with all of you. I hope you were impressed with their start and cannot wait for you to see them at our Holiday Concert on December 16. You will be blown away by their quick progress!

GISD All-District Band Auditions

Saturday, Nov. 9th, 9am-3pm

3505 Hayman Drive

Garland, TX

Wind Symphony students will audition for a spot in the GISD All-District Band. Exact audition times can be found HERE. Detailed information about the auditions and answers to most questions can be found HERE.

Please make plans to be there the entire time if you play flute, clarinet, alto sax, trumpet, horn, trombone, or percussion. Other instruments should be finished around 12:00pm or earlier. All times for this contest (except the 9:00am sign in times) are approximate. Please be flexible and pay attention to announcements and read all posted signs!

Career Day Speakers Needed

On Thursday, January 16, Hudson will host our annual Career Day. I know many of you have incredible jobs that our students would love to hear about. If you are interested in speaking to some of our 8th grade students on this day, please use this link to sign up: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf7vRHAYHjQEZR-FW2_AEnbnW-Xvr7edoqrLu7b6869ujwvDA/viewform?usp=sf_link

Thanks in advance for sharing with our students and inspiring them to work towards a wonderful career!

Help with Hands-on Science

Our science department is looking for donations for some hands on activities they plan to do with the students. Many of the items are things you might already have on hand at home or consumables they are trying to collect. Please consider helping them out so science can continue to be a fun place to learn! The list of items needed can be found HERE.

Jazz Band Rehearsals and Design Help

We will have jazz band rehearsals on Friday, November 8 and Friday, November 15 from 4:15-5:45pm. This is a change from the originally published schedule, as it takes away the rehearsal on the day we get out for Thanksgiving break and moves it up a week. Thanks to all of the students who have been super dedicated to this group! We are having fun preparing holiday music to perform in a few weeks and can't wait for you to hear us!

On a separate note, if you have a background in graphic design and are interested in helping us design a logo for our jazz band to incorporate onto stands, shirts, etc. please contact Mrs. Becker.

Practice Records for ALL STUDENTS

All students should be inputting practice log minutes in Charms every day. We have gone over how to input the minutes in all classes. This is a weekly grade and very important for the growth of each musician. If you are having trouble logging into Charms, please contact Mrs. Becker to have your password reset.
