Massages at WORK!

Yes, you read that correctly! Thanks to a brilliant idea from Angela Horn, we will host a certified massage therapist here at GES! Amanda Martinez will be at GES on Monday, October 24th and Tuesday, October 25th. She will be available in the KGES room right after the announcements until dismissal, but will take a 15 minute break every hour. She will be offering 15 minute shoulder and neck massages. The cost is $15 per session, however PTA has agreed to cover some of the cost for us, which will decrease the price per person. If you're interested, please sign up on the google sheet linked HERE by Friday, October 21st. That way , over the weekend, we can communicate to you how much your session will be after the PTA contribution. Ms. Martinez accepts cash or check. Please make checks payable to Amanda Martinez.

Happy relaxing from The Sunshine Committee and PTA!!!

Food Truck Lunch!

We have our first food truck lunch days scheduled for Tuesday, October 18th from 11:00am-1:15pm. Woohoo! The Chez Flo menu is here so browse through and start salivating at our yummy options! If your recess or lunch duty does not allow you to order during the time they are serving, let Angela know and she'll cover duty for you to go place and receive your order or place the order for you! Be sure to show your GCISD badge when you order. Chez Flo accepts cash or credit card.

1:1 PLCs

In preparation for Thursday's 1:1 PLC (Oct. 20th), please take a moment to view the GES Digital PLC agenda share a celebration or link a student product/picture from your class and/or add any items under the "want to learn/want to design" section. Erin Gerdes will be leading our meetings and this will help her prepare. Please try to submit your questions/requests by Tuesday, Oct. 18th so Erin can be responsive to our needs.

Friendly Reminders

Substitutes

A few of you have asked questions about substitutes, or lack thereof, lately. I understand how frustrating October has been when subs don't pick up vacancies. I answered one grade level's questions on the team meeting answers doc from this week, but wanted to share some other information with you. The graphic below was included in principal communications last week. Sounds like our challenges are the same across the district...
