Parent Student Compact
Parent-Student Compact
If you’ve ever wondered how you can help your student succeed at school, the McBride Elementary Parent-Student compact is a great resource. The compact suggests responsibilities of the school, parents, and students. We all have important roles to play to ensure the success of our students.
At McBride Elementary, teachers commit to provide students with high quality curriculum and learning materials. They provide grade reports and other communication to help you understand how your child is doing. They also welcome parents at conferences, classroom presentations, and Learning Shares.
Parents can help too! We encourage you to make sure your child attends school regularly, gets enough sleep, and eats breakfast. Encourage your child to show positive school behavior. Monitor your child’s use of electronic devices and encourage positive use of your child’s time.
Students also have important responsibilities. They should follow our school guidelines: be safe, be respectful, be responsible, and be a learner. They can take charge of their learning by paying attention in class and asking questions when needed. They can also show empathy and consideration by encouraging their classmates.
We encourage you to review the compact and to set a goal in one of the areas for the new year.
The compact was developed by parents and teachers, is updated annually, and is part of our School-Wide Title Program. You can find it on the McBride webpage and in the Student Handbook.
Happy Learning!
