Message from Dr. Moore
Hello Families!!
March is National Reading Awareness Month! It is time to celebrate our children's interest in reading, writing, and all things literacy!!! What can you do to help your kiddo enjoy reading?
- Read aloud to your student for at least 15 minutes every day! Click the link to see why it matters!
- Read aloud with expression, funny voices, accents, get silly!
- Check out MyOn and let your child find a book that interests them!
- Set up a reading nook at home and fill it with a variety of books!
- Go to the local library to check out some books!
- Exchange books with a friend!
- Host a children's book club!
- Talk to your child's teacher about being a guest reader for the class!
- Grab their favorite books, sleeping bags or blankets and flashlights to camp out in the living room!
- Celebrate Wacky Wednesday and read in random places like the bathtub or under a table!
Be sure to Tweet some pictures of your kiddo reading (Tag Parmley: @WISDParmley) or add them to the Parmley PTO Closed Group on Facebook! We can't wait to see your pictures!
“There are many little ways to enlarge your child’s world. Love of books is the best of all.”
--Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis
**To join the Parmley PTO Closed Group on Facebook, search for the group, and simply click Join. One of the moderators or admin will verify your child's enrollment, and add you to the group. Joining the group allows you to post pictures in a private group rather than a public page. It does not mean you are joining PTO. The group page is run and moderated by the PTO for Parmley!
As always, please let us know if you have any questions or concerns!
Thank you,
Kelley Moore, Principal

REMINDER ABOUT TRANSPORTATION CHANGES
REMINDERS:
All transportation changes MUST be called in by 2:00pm or they will not be permitted.
Any calls for change in transportation after 2:00pm will not be allowed unless it is an emergency. Please make note of this for future transportation changes!
Early Release will only be allowed until 3:00pm. After 3:00pm, the child will have to go home on their normal routine.
Dismissal:
If your child will be going home a different way, please let the FRONT OFFICE and your child's teacher know right away. Telling the teacher is wonderful, but sometimes they can't check their email until it is after school, so your best option is always the main front office.
If messages are not cleared or given in time, please know the teachers are trained to send kids home their regular way unless told otherwise by administration. We CANNOT take a child's word for it when it comes to leaving school safely.
Thank you!
Dr. Moore and the Entire Front Office Staff
Car Rider Line Reminders
Also, please remember to be respectful of each other. Car rider line can be stressful, but if we all follow the procedures below, we should be able to get through it quickly without any issue!
If you do not have a car rider sign, please be sure to come by the front office prior to 2:00pm with your picture ID to get one or you will be asked to park during dismissal!
Thank you!
Dr. Moore
BIG NEWS
Thank you, Ms. Sheldon, for leading this awesome group of kids!
Literacy Tips from Ms. Paugh!
March 1st is our Book Character Parade! We can't wait to see the various characters!
Math Tips from Mrs. Klespis
Great Resource!!
Here is a website that will help you understand the math standards.
It includes information as well as home activities.
Technology Tips from Williams, the Tech Coach
Reflex Math / myON
Does your student need something educational to do at home? Your student can use Reflex Math to practice their math fact fluency and myON to read books.
Reflex Math can be accessed at reflexmath.com for computers and Android devices. For Apple devices, the app "Reflex Student" can be downloaded. myON should only be accessed at myon.com as the myON app isn't reliable for either Android or Apple.
If your student is unable to log in, email trwilliams@willisisd.org. I usually respond within 24 to 48 hours.

Clinic Information
Just a friendly reminder: if your child has vomiting, diarrhea, or fever, they cannot come to school until they are symptom free WITHOUT medication for 24 hours.....This is in accordance with Texas Administrative Code, Rule 97.7.
Please send Kinder and 1st grade students with an extra pair of clothes just in case of those unforeseen accidents! We have some clothes in the clinic, but we don't always have the right sizes!
District Attendance Policy
I'm super excited to announce that our attendance is already up from last year! Way to go, Wildkats!!
I would like to ask you all to please remember that we use every minute of our instructional day, so we really need students here all day.
Please note that school starts at 8:25am and ends at 3:40pm.
Please limit early checkouts to party dates and/or emergency appointments.
We are conducting regular residency checks to ensure our students are at school regularly. If we notice several absences, we will be conducting home visits and setting up appointments to complete an attendance contract. It is imperative students are in school EVERYDAY, ALL DAY!
Please remember Attendance counts!
