JAVIER MUÑOZ
A connoisseur of several branches of the Private Law in both the civil law and the common law legal systems, Prof. Muñoz specialises in the negotiation and drafting of all kinds of international deals and transactions. Over the last decade, Prof. Muñoz has worked in different top Madrid law firms handling international commercial matters for domestic and international clients, and as the in-house head of legal services for American and European companies conducting business worldwide.
Since 2007, Prof. Muñoz has been a professor at IE Law School, lecturing in different areas of the Private Law, and most importantly, teaching the subject of International Contracts within the International LL.M. programme and in several Executive Education programmes (now, also, International Business Transactions within the LL.B. programme). He was elected best professor of the International LL.M. for the graduating class of 2012.
Prof. Muñoz works as an International Legal Advisor and broadly counsels companies conducting business internationally. He is currently also the General Counsel at National Geographic Retail (WRS), and leads the worldwide expansion efforts of the National Geographic brand in the international retail and wholesale markets. He was formerly Corporate Counsel and worldwide head of legal services at Energy Recovery Inc (NASDAQ ERII) based out of San Francisco, USA and senior manager at PwC, where he specialized in commercial transactions in the CIP sector, and was an active member of the German Desk and the Private Wealth Specialty Team. He is a fluent Spanish, English, French, German and Italian speaker and he is currently a member of the Madrid Bar Association.
