Kids' Don't Float Program
The Kids' Don't Float program hosted by Alaska Boating Safety Association, Coast Guard, and Coast Guard Auxiliary has been postponed due to weather. We are hoping to reschedule in the coming weeks.
Calling all New Kindergarteners for the 22-23 School Year!
COLD WEATHER GEAR
Just a reminder that we go out to recess nearly everyday, even in the cold weather, unless the playground is not entirely safe. When the snow flies, we also take advantage of the sledding for P.E. Please have your child dressed appropriately with hats, gloves, snow pants (or layers and rain pants). Please mark all items as best you can with your child's name, so it's easy to locate the owner of lost items. We are planning on really enjoying this Winter weather!

TAYLOR TRANSPORTATION BUS INFORMATION
Parents! We have a long post here, please read it all. This will go into effect Monday, Sept 13th.
Unfortunately our school bus tracking and notification software isn’t going to work for our area. Please disregard any emails regarding School Bus Hub, as we will not be utilizing the system.
Our new policy for riders going to alternate drop-off is as follows:
Elementary K-5:
NO alternate drop-offs. We will no longer accept day-of or one-time changes to your child’s drop location. If you have a predicable one (my child goes to Grandma’s every Friday), or a long term one (we’re out of town for medical, my child goes to our friend’s all next week) we can accommodate those, please contact us for those situations.
MS/HS 6-12:
This age group is allowed to be dropped anywhere they’d like along the route, on 2 conditions: They notify the driver as they board, and their parents haven’t checked “no alternate drop-offs allowed” on their bus form. This can be altered at any time by contacting us.
If you have any questions, please FB message us, call/text Zach at 907-305-0206, or email taylorbuswrg@gmail.com
DONATIONS NEEDED!
EES is in need of SNACK DONATIONS!!
Individual packages of Goldfish crackers
Chewy Granola Bars are popular
Fruit Cups
Applesauce
Individual bags of chips
Cup Of Noodles
EES is in need of your excess plastic grocery bags. If you keep these and are getting over-ran by too many, we would love to take those off of your hands!
We are also in need of the following for our EES STEM Lab:
old DVD's and CD's
cellophane
styrofoam plates
take out food containers
solo cups
excess new office supplies (stapler/staples, scissors, sticky notes, rulers, clipboards, file folders, paper clips, pencils, pens, you get the idea!)
seed packets
string, yarn
beads
any cool recyclables!
We are still taking donations of gently used books for our Birthday Book cart!
EATS Garden
SEEKING SUCCULENT PLANTS
EES Caring Closet
Due to many awesome teachers, paraprofessionals, parents, and other staff at EES, we have an EES Caring Closet. We have a small supply of extra clothing, winter coats, gloves, hats, backpacks, etc. in the case that students are in immediate need of something. If you have a donation you'd like to make to the EES Caring Closet, please drop it off at the EES Office. Specifically, right now we could use sweatpants, hoodies, tee shirts, winter coats, and new or like new water bottles. Does your child need something? Don't hesitate to call the EES Office and ask if the Caring Closet has what you need. Ideas for EES Caring Closet? Let us know!
BOOKS
EES has a used book collection made up of donations from around the community and discarded books from libraries. We will be using this collection for students to pick a birthday book on their birthday at school. If you have books you are looking for a home for, it would be a great opportunity to donate to our birthday book collection!
BOXTOPS
If you do not wish to set up an account feel free to send in your receipts (within two weeks of purchase) and we will scan them for you and then return your receipt. Each time a student brings in a receipt or you send proof that you've scanned a receipt your student will get to choose a prize from the boxtop store!
BOXTOPS provide an opportunity for EES to fund things that we may not normally be able to fund. Past BOXTOPS purchases have been playground equipment, the school greenhouse, playground supplies, and classroom resources. Thanks for your help!
Keep collecting those paper boxtops too. We will have another boxtop store in the spring.
CLASS PAGES
CLASSROOM TREATS/BIRTHDAY PARTY REMINDER
If you are sending birthday party invitations to school with your student to hand out, please make sure they are inviting their whole class. Also with covid protocols please make sure you send them in plenty of time so we can let them sit for 24 hours before sending them home.
