THE HATTER UPDATE

THE COMMUNICATION FORUM FOR HHHS FAMILIES

MORNING ARRIVAL - THANK YOU!

Thanks for your support and assistance in the changes we have made in the morning arrival process. We have seen significant improvements as a result of some tweaks in our protocol and the efforts made by many parents. Please continue to follow the guidelines and we will be able to provide safe, orderly, and efficient arrival procedures for students, families, and staff.

-Please DO NOT drop students off on Horsham Road
-Please DO NOT go around other cars to get to your location

-Please remind students to cross at the crosswalk

*REMINDER: THE START OF THE FIRST PERIOD IS 7:30 AM*

STUDENT LUNCHES

Please remind your high schoolers that they must eat in the location where they have been assigned (either the cafeteria or the main gym). There are outdoor options available in both locations, weather permitting.

Students are also permitted to have more than one lunch. However, they must eat their first lunch, and then they can return for an additional lunch. Please remind your child(ren) about cleaning up and throwing away their trash once they are done eating. There are multiple trash receptacles in every lunch location.

MASKING

It is important that students remained masked unless they are eating lunch. It is also important that students mask appropriately (masks over their nose and mouth). We recognize the inconvenience this is for everyone. However, there are guidelines that must be followed. Most of our student population is doing a great job with this and needs very little prompting or redirection. Please have a conversation with your high schooler regarding the importance of following this guideline.

INTERIM GRADE REPORTING

First marking period (Q1) interim grade reports will be available on Friday, October 8. Please review grades in PS on this day after 3 pm. Interim reports are much like report cards, except the grades they include are not final grades. They simply provide parents and students with the current grade for the student in a particular class. Parents/guardians can expect direct communication (email, phone call, or letter) for their student who has a grade of less than 70% in a class.

FAMILY/TEACHER CONFERENCES

Fall family conferences with teachers will begin in two weeks. The dates for conferences are Tuesday, October 12th in the evening and Wednesday, October 13th in the afternoon.
Tuesday (10/12): 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Wednesday (10/13): 12:30 pm -2:50 pm

Families can begin reaching out to teachers to schedule conferences on the days mentioned above.

HOMECOMING DANCE

Currently, we are still working to determine the status of the Homecoming Dance based on the ability to adhere to health and safety guidelines. As a result, we will be postponing the October 16th date. We hope to be in the position to reach a decision by next week regarding holding the event in a different format so that ALL students can benefit and participate.
