The location
Elk Island is located in Alberta, Canada. Located 45 minutes east of Alberta's capital.
The Island part...
Elk Island is not geologically an island but because of its small hills surrounded by flat lands they call it this. It is a reserve for lots of animals too. One of its goals is to re-establish the bison.
Wildlife; there are 3000 mammals.

They were the first animal found at the place that is now Elk Island.
Bison
These big animals live on this reserve to help be re-established in Canada and the United States.
The Canadian Lynx
These awesome creatures are sadly endangered and are kept safe here.
It is home to or migrated to by 250 species of birds!

The Park does not offer personal wildlife tours. But they are pleased to introduce you to the 8th best wildlife viewing area in the world, rated by National Geographic.

They have wetlands, marshes and swamps. They also have flat lands of grass and trees
