Talley Street Update

September 14, 2020

An Update from the Principal

Dear Talley Street Community,

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Thank you to those families who took the time to complete the virtual learning survey. I am in the process of going through the responses and will share with Talley's Leadership Team at our meeting this week. Again, thank you for your feedback. If you have not completed the annual data update, please do that as soon as possible. Information on the data update is below. Have a great week!

Annual Data Update

We have moved the typical beginning of the school year household data update, medical forms, opt-out forms, and handbook sign-offs to the parent portal. On Tuesday, September 1, parents will receive an email with a link to access the update in the parent portal.

It is important for parents or guardians to complete these forms and sign offs by September 15. Please note, only parents and guardians in the primary household will have access to fill out the information for the annual data update. Please review the 2020-2021 K-12 District Handbook and Code of Conduct and Restorative Practices Handbook prior to completing the update.

Please watch this video for directions for accessing the data update.

Thank you for your time. We hope that it is a successful school year for your family.

Flybrary Reminders

Book Return

  • Books can be returned to the bus on Tuesdays or to Talley on Wednesdays from 10 AM-1 PM!
  • If you are returning your book to the bus, you should have received an email from me last week with this form. Please fill it out before Monday at noon if you plan on returning your book to the bus on Tuesday! It needs to be filled out every week that you plan to return a book.

A Note on Bus Delivery

I know that some have had challenges with the timing for bus delivery. I have gotten clarification and I want to explain why that is. The bus does not stop at every stop, as that would be extremely time consuming. It only stops at the stops that have book deliveries on the bus. So, the timing of the app can be off because that timing is calculated with the bus stopping at each stop on the route. Bus drivers and assistants have your phone number, and if they stop and you aren't there, they are supposed to be calling. If that doesn't happen, let me know and I will do my best to fix that in the future.
