Walnut Staff Participates in Professional Development Day
Today, the Walnut High School staff came together as a staff for a professional development day. Our staff spent the morning reviewing our WASC goals, instructional strategies, and collaborating as a team to find ways to improve as a school. The middle of the day was spent by professional development breakout sessions focused on improving classroom instruction and culture. Finally, a much needed "Get up and Move" activity was put on by our PE department, emphasizing the importance of getting outside and moving around.

Walnut High Schools Offers Dual Enrollment!
Looking to satisfy HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE graduation requirements for FREE???
The Dual Enrollment Program between Walnut High School and Mt. SAC will give you that opportunity. This wonderful partnership provides students the chance to experience career technical skills to meet real-world expectations.
Please note that seats are VERY LIMITED, and courses are not guaranteed. Classes are taught by Mt. SAC professors, not WHS teachers. You will be required to meet WHS AND Mt. SAC expectations and standards.
After completing this survey, your information will be shared with your GLC. Please remember to express your interest during your pre-registration date in March.

ASB Accepting Applications for the 2020-2021 School Year
ASB is currently accepting applications for the 2020-2021 school year! Pick up an application in the ASB room and turn it in by March 6th.
SAT Practice Exam - Save the date & your spot now!
Class of 2023 is conducting a
Mock SAT test issued by the Revolution Prep Academy as a fundraiser this year. The registration link is provided below and the SAT Exam will be held on
March 14.
Students will receive immediate results and feedback when the exam concludes.

Walnut High School Summer Session 2020
Registration for non-tuition courses will open on Thursday, February 13th at 6:00 pm and end on Friday, February 21st at 12:00 am.
Class assignments will be posted by Sunday, February 23rd.
The following classes will tentatively be offered depending on enrollment:
- Civics/Economics (Class of 2021 Only) (Must take both classes)
- World History (Class of 2023 Only)
- Fundamentals of Art
- Music Appreciation
- Computer Aided Drafting and Design
- Geometry (Remediation only) (Must have received a “D” or an “F” in a Geometry class)
Tuition based classes will begin registering the week of February 24th. Please see the Dedicated to Learning website for more details (dedicated2learning.org)

In the 2019-2020 school year, Walnut High School introduced the Cisco Networking Academy. The 2.5 year program requires no previous computer knowledge and provides students with foundations in Information Technology and Networking, as well as opportunities for highly sought after industry certifications. Art Competition for the PAC 20th Anniversary!
The Performing Arts Center is turning 20! There will be a gala celebrating 20 years of performing arts at WHS on Friday, April 3 at 7:00 PM. Be sure to save the date.
To celebrate, we are holding an art competition with the theme Celebrating the Arts: Past, Present, and Future. All current students and alumni are encouraged to submit their work.
