SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR 2/7 - 2/22
Support our school and help your child discover new books by shopping at our annual Book Fair. Our Book Fair will be offered in person and will run from Monday, February 7th till Friday, February 22nd. You can still shop virtually and have books shipped to your house by visiting our website below. Books make great gift ideas! Please help our school earn back 25% of our total sales which will be put right back into classroom libraries!
When visiting our website please consider setting up an eWallet account. Setting up an eWallet allows you to add money to your account online. When students shop the Book Fair at school, they won't need to bring in money, we will look up their e-Wallet account to pay for books. Any unused money can be used to buy books at the Scholastic Store online or for future fairs.
If you are interested in volunteering at the Book Fair or have questions please reach out to Tabitha Schultz or Becky Wasikowski at bookfairpv@gmail.com.
ON-SITE TESTING
As we shared in the District Newsletter on Friday (here), we have started offering an On-site COVID-19 Testing center at the ECC District Office on weekdays from 7am to 3pm for students, staff, and family/household members of positive student or staff cases or anyone deemed a close contact.
If you are contacted by our main office at the school that your child is symptomatic and needs to be picked up or released from school, you now have the opportunity between 7am to 3pm to take your child to the ECC District Office for COVID-19 testing. HIGH SCHOOL ONLY - We will continue to have On-Site Testing at Franklin High School during weekdays from 7am to 3pm for high school students through our health office located there.
Please review this document for other details and questions you may have about how this will work. Testing is another mitigation strategy to help us reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our schools.

K-5 SPRING CONCERT UPDATES - MARK AND ADJUST YOUR CALENDARS
Parents - we originally had some K-5 music events slotted on the calendar coming up at the end of January and the beginning of February. We have been reviewing our offerings for the music program and working with Saber Center availability to adjust these events. Moving into the spring, we will be offering concert events for grades 1, 3, and 5 at the Saber Center this year. By offering this event, we hope to present a larger scope for families so they can experience the progress and growth across the grade levels. Therefore, grades K, 2, and 4 will not have a spring concert event this year.
Please mark your calendars for Thursday, June 2 PV Grades 1, 3, 5 @ 6 pm at the Saber Center

MASK REMINDERS
As we continue to require masks for students, please remember the following:
It’s a good idea to wash your child’s mask frequently, ideally daily if possible.
Please ensure that your child has a few masks to rotate throughout the average school week
Please send an extra mask in your child’s backpack in the event they need another mask
When choosing masks for your child, please look for masks that have 2 or more layers of breathable fabric, cover their nose and mouth, fit snugly across the sides of their face, and don’t have gaps.

LOST & FOUND *NEW*
We now have a coat/storage rack outside of the main office where lost and found will be placed. Students should check this location if they are missing an item. Here are Photos of the lost and found items. Any unclaimed items for December will be donated on Friday, February 4th.
DRESS FOR THE WEATHER
All students are required to go outside for recess daily unless the windchill is below zero or it is raining. When the temperature is below 50 degrees students are required to wear jackets/coats. Please make sure your student is dressed properly for the cold weather with hats, gloves, scarves, boots and snow pants. Snow pants and boots are required to be worn in order for students to play in the snow. Classrooms stay together as a group on a designated area of the playground - if your child's classroom is assigned a grassy area, this makes snow pants and boots essential.
ABSENCE REPORTING
It is essential to note that student absences are now reported using THIS FORM. The Absence Reporting Form is also located as a button on the Pleasant View webpage and under the “Parents Information” section. This form will require you to enter your child’s six-digit student ID number and birthdate before you can report your child absent. The Absence Reporting Form should be used to report ANY attendance change including late arrivals, early departures, and pre planned absences for both in-person and virtual students.
