Dillon Edington is named National Merit FINALIST!

GHS Senior Dillon Edington has been named as a Finalist in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program. Edington is considered an exemplary student and joins a very small percentage of seniors to reach this high level of achievement. Dillon is the son of Darrel & Tracey Edington.

More than 1.6 million juniors in about 22,000 high schools entered the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), which served as the initial screening for program entrants.

To be named a Finalist, an entrant must have an outstanding academic record throughout high school, be endorsed and recommended by a high school official, write an essay, and earn SAT ® scores that confirm the student’s earlier performance on the qualifying PSAT Test. Johnson was selected as a finalist from a pool of semifinalists that represented less than one percent of all U.S. high school seniors.
