2. PUBLIC COMMENT

No community members addressed the Board in-person during this public comment portion of the meeting.


However, public comment was submitted via an online Google form by the community prior to the meeting. 3. SUPERINTENDENT REPORT

KINDERGARTEN PROGRAMMING

The District Administration team presented to the Board of Education information on the District's kindergarten programming and possibilities for the future of the program. The Board then used that presentation to discuss possibilities for the direction of the kindergarten programming in the future.

4. PUBLIC COMMENT

Community members addressed the Board during this public comment portion of the meeting. According to Board Policy, public comment is heard for thirty minutes at Board of Education meetings. At this meeting, the public comments begin at the 1:03 mark of the meeting and can be viewed by clicking here.

STAFFING UPDATE

Assistant Superintendent of Personnel and Planning, Dr. Brian Kaye, presented an update on the District's staffing:

  • Full-Time Equivalent Per Employee Category
  • Full-Time Equivalent by Building
  • Unfilled Positions


The presentation showed the number of Full-Time Equivalency (FTE) positions that have been hired for the upcoming school year 2021 - 2022 and the positions that remain vacant as the District continues to seek to attract high-quality candidates to work in Arlington Heights School District 25.

ENROLLMENT REPORT

The Department of Personnel and Planning works in conjunction with school administration and classroom teachers to best meet the needs of its student population. This is a collaborative process that begins in January of the previous school year and continues until the first day of school.


As of August 23, 2021, the District serviced a total of 5,309 students. The overall early childhood – eighth-grade student enrollment is down 53 students compared to the enrollment on August 23, 2020 (5,362).
