The Collegeboard Opportunity Scholarship Program
Calling all juniors: turn your efforts into scholarships. The College Board Opportunity Scholarships guide you through the college planning process and offer you a chance to earn money for college for each action you complete. The more effort you put in, the more opportunities you’ll have to earn. It doesn’t require an essay or an application, nor does it have a minimum GPA or test score requirement. Scholarships can be used at two- and four-year colleges. Go to cb.org/opportunity to sign up and take action to be eligible for scholarships that range from $500 to $40,000. Two RPHS seniors have been awarded $1,000 scholarships based on their participation in the collegeboard's opportunity program.
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
To apply for federal student aid, such as federal grants, work-study, and loans, students need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Completing and submitting the FAFSA is free. Many states and colleges use FAFSA information to determine eligibility for state and school aid, and some private financial aid providers may use FAFSA information to determine whether you qualify for their aid.
The FAFSA is currently available to students and families for completion. To get started, click here.
