Brief History

Cienfuegos was founded by a man named Luis Declouet. Declouet was a Frenchmen. It was founded on April 22, 1819. Cienfuegos is located at 22* North and 80* West. It is 150 miles outside of the Cuban capital, Havana.



-The main sport played in Cienfuegos is baseball as is true for much of Cuba. But they also enjoy track and field games.

Natural Resources and Land

The land in Cienfuegos is full of rolling hills and an abundance off water useful for irrigation. The soil that is mostly made of limestone and red clay is ideal for lots of agriculture which can be sold in different markets.


The population here is around 146,000 people.


In Cienfuegos, Spanish is the most commonly spoken language. English is spoken in some areas too.
