What is a Sputnik?
Sputnik was a simple satellite. It was a satellite that can produce signals so that we could receive and extract information about the via web and the radio.

History has changed on Oct.4 1957, when the Soviets first launched the world’s first satellite, the Sputnik 1. It was about the size of a beach ball and weighed about 180 lbs. It takes about 98 min. to orbit around the Earth on it’s path.

Sputnik 2
Sputnik 2 was the second spacecraft launched in Nov. 3 1957, into earth’s orbit and it was the first biological spacecraft. It would transmit data to Earth every 15 min. each orbit. Laika(a part-samoyed terrior dog) was the first being to travel space in the Sputnik 2, but died because the oxygen broke and she was eventually cooked.

Sputnik 3 was launched in May 15, 1958, under the International Geographysical Program. It was designed to study the upper layers of the atmosphere and cosmic space. It takes 106 min. to orbit around the Earth.
