Gratitude is in the Mail
Paige Bode provides our staff with curriculum support for Math and Science. She works with our teachers each month to help them to explore the math and science standards and how they teach those in the classroom. We appreciate Mrs. Bode's support and her advocacy for Montessori math. Please send her some beautiful spring artwork, a note, or letter of thanks!
We love you, Mrs. Bode!

Return to Learn~Montessori
Starting April 12th we will be moving to Plan A. Here are some changes this plan will bring:
NEW ENHANCEMENT & RECESS SCHEDULES
We did some rearranging to put in more outside recess time with access to the play equipment. We also wanted to add in time for students to be in the Learning Commons to do some SHINE Lab activities. We took the counselor out of the Enhancement rotation, because she will be scheduling time with your class for some Social Emotional lessons during the day.
Please see the new schedule below that includes an Enhancement EVERY DAY Monday-Thursday. If you are remote, you will have your Art and Music with your class and your Learning Commons and PE will be at 12:45 on another day (Coach Ken and Ms. Vickie will schedule those times with you.)
We hope these new changes give all of our students a chance to SHINE. Please let us know if you have any questions.
SOCIAL DISTANCING UNDER PLAN A
- (Plan A only) Maintain at least 3 feet of distance between students in classrooms to the greatest extent possible (e.g., desks spaced 3 feet apart).
- (Plan A only) Maintain at least 6 feet of spacing between people when masks cannot be worn (e.g., when eating).
- Keep students and teachers in small cohort groups that stay together as much as possible during the day, and from day to day. Limit mixing between cohort groups as much as possible (e.g., during recess, lunch in the cafeteria, arrival and dismissal).
- Minimize opportunities for sustained exposure (15 minutes or more, cumulative over a 24 hour period, within 6 feet distance) between students, teachers, staff, and visitors in areas they may congregate, such as in waiting and reception areas, when in line, during transitions, or while waiting for transportation.
- Provide frequent reminders for students, teachers, and staff to stay at least 6 feet apart from one another when feasible.
SCREENINGS WILL CONTINUE
If your child registers a temperature, you may be asked to wait a few minutes for a recheck (especially if the heat is on). If your child has a temperature or symptoms, you will be asked to take them home and will be contacted by school personnel with instructions.
MASKS
EVERYONE should wear a mask EVERY DAY, ALL DAY. If you need a mask for your child, let a staff member know. We will be happy to provide one and will have them at each entrance. Please remember, this includes anytime you are on school property even if out front at pick up.
TRANSPORTATION
AFTER 8 am, please enter only through the front office. Parents should plan to walk with their child to the front entrance and wait while staff complete a screening.
All transportation changes should occur BEFORE 12 NOON. This gives us time to plan safely for everyone's departure. We will never change your child's transportation plans without hearing it from you. Telling your child there is a change will not change it with us...we have to have a note or phone call or text from you. Please call the school before noon to make any changes.
NOTE TO PARENTS
Please know that at any time that your child develops Covid symptoms or is exposed to someone with Covid symptoms, you will be asked to pick him/her up early from school. If you need a note or call to your employer to explain why you have to leave work, we will work with you to provide that. If your child is asked to quarantine, school staff will provide specific information about how to participate remotely during that time.
We are using the same attendance procedures during this time. You can be present for school by being in person (if you are in the blue or green weeks), attending virtual meetings, completing work on Seesaw, or communicating with school staff.
Our staff will be sanitizing the Montessori classroom materials as they are used. All aerosol cleaners will be sprayed after staff and students leave the area/room. If you have any questions, please reach out to our staff at 350-2900. We want to do our best to keep things clean and safe for your child and for our staff.
