A Message from Mrs. Belcher:
Leopard Families,
The excitement is building as we approach the first day of school and the start of our 50th year! We cannot wait to see all of our Leopards! Be on the lookout for a video message from me with first day reminders and information. It will be sent out on Tuesday.
We are excited to see our Leopards tomorrow at our Meet the Teacher event. In efforts to help with social distancing and traffic flow, we recommend all students attend during their assigned alphabet times. Students with a last name beginning with A-L will attend between 5:00 and 5:40. Students with a last name beginning with M-Z will attend between 5:50 and 6:30. We encourage all visitors to wear face masks. If you are unable to attend in-person, all teachers will send out a brief video introducing themselves to your child. Please ensure your child's teacher knows how your child will get home the first day of school. Please bring your child's backpack and school supplies to Meet the Teacher Night. Teachers will be placing your child's transportation tag on your child's backpack.
Our first day of school is quickly approaching! We cannot wait to have our Leopards back in our classrooms! We will not be counting tardies the first day of school. To help with social distancing and traffic flow, we recommend all students with the last name beginning with A-L be dropped off between 7:30 and 7:50. We recommend all students with the last name beginning with M-Z be dropped off between 7:55 and 8:15. We will have staff at all entrances to help students get to their classrooms. However, only bus riders should enter through the bus ramp doors.
On the first day of school, there will be a decorative yard sign in the front lawn. We encourage you to get your first day pictures of your child by the sign. Please utilize all crossing walks and be cautious as traffic is busy the first day.
After the first day of school, our doors will be open at 7:30 for all students. Our official school time will be 8:00 to 3:10. The tardy bell will ring at 8:00 and dismissal will begin at 3:10. A first day packet will be sent home outlining more details.
To allow our students to get acclimated to school and to learn lunchrooms procedures, we will not have any lunch visitors until mid-September. More details to come!
All returning students need to complete their new school year registration via the parent portal. An email was sent out to each returning student on how to complete these steps along with their student snapcode. Please ensure this information is up to date before the beginning of the school year. If you need assistance, please contact the front office.
Don't forget to follow us on Facebook. We post updates, reminders, and campus happenings. @LamarElemCISD
I look forward to seeing you all soon,
Kristen Belcher, Principal
Lamar Elementary
