News you can use
From our Counselor, Ms. Morgan
Did you know the school counselor, Mrs. Morgan, has been doing guidance lessons every week since she came back from maternity leave in October?
Every class from EC/PK to 5th grade has had a lesson every week! Your learners have learned about responsibility, how their brain is involved in their emotions, making healthy choices (Red Ribbon Week), empathy, kindness, being an upstander (anti-bullying), and avoiding peer pressure.
More to come this semester are lessons about effective communication, conflict resolution, healthy friendships, personal safety, perseverance, having a growth mindset, coping skills, and college and career readiness.
This year, Coppell ISD has also introduced the Second Step curriculum which classroom educators teach weekly and covers topics such as goal setting, managing emotions, empathy and kindness, and problem-solving. Two great ways that we help all of our Longhorns be citizens of character!
A few more Car Loop Reminders
Families can drop off children starting as early as 7:20am. Our car loop is rather empty from 7:20 until about 7:30. Arriving a little earlier is great way to avoid the car loop congestion that starts to pickup around 7:30.
Cell phone use in a school zone is prohibited by law. Please refrain from using your cell phone while driving through our car loops.
Learning Walks
The purpose of a Lakeside Learning Walk is to get a campus tour and to see a moment in the life of Lakeside learners. These walks are typically intended for prospective families but we have always opened up them up for current families as well.
