A Message from our Principal...

Dear Students, Parents & Learning Coaches,

WAVA is pleased to announce that we have completed out AdvancEd accreditation and self-study process during the week of Feb 22 and have been recommended for another accreditation term by the visiting team! The final report and accreditation term length will be provided to the school in a couple months. We thank everyone for their participation and support through this process. Special thanks goes out to all of our students, families and teachers for their many contributions.

Learning Day at the Capitol

This exciting event gives our digital public school students and their families a chance to travel to the Washington State Capitol to rally and show strong support for digital public schools. We have lots of exciting events scheduled this year including capitol tours, an awards ceremony, and opportunities to interact with legislators. High School Girls Stem Conference

Expanding Your Horizons Network is known as the preeminent source for resources and experiences that provide focused engagement of middle school girls from all backgrounds in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). At its core, the EYHN’s unique nationwide network of STEM conferences provides a gateway for empowering girls to see themselves as future participants in STEM and STEM-related careers.

• Girls meet and interact with female adult STEM role models and participate with their peers in high quality hands-on STEM activity through EYHN’s unique conference model.

• Girls discover the fun and relevance of STEM through participating in hands-on activities at the conferences.

• Girls engage in a peer community of interest outside of the conferences connecting them with girls from around the world and to other STEM resources that support ongoing participation in STEM activities.

UW Engineering Days

Saturday, April 23rd, 9am-2pm

The College of Engineering Discovery Days take place on April 22-23, 2016 with nearly 100 interactive exhibits that demonstrate basic science concepts for children, expose prospective students to cutting-edge UW research and engage the public in engineering innovation.

Engineering Discovery Days is free and open to everyone, but registration is required. Registration allows the College of Engineering to have an accurate count of attendees, provide adequate supplies and communicate any updates to logistics.

*Information sessions for high school students start at 9:00 am. Exhibits open at 10:00 am.
