political industialization
Political industrialization
The Sherman antitrust act was created in order to break up monopolies. during industrialization monopolies occurred and were extremely unfair. Monopolies raised prices and made the consumer pay more for a lower quality product (shame)
Economic industrialization
Industrialization had a huge effect on the environment. during this period there was a big increase in factories and production. This caused more pollution and was very bad for the environment. (shame)
Social and cultural industrialization
Industrialization required a lot of workers to fill the positions in factories. The work was simple and repetitive. these jobs were perfect for foreign immigrants who didn't understand English. (proud)
Economic Immigration
The new immigrants supplied new business with cheap efficient labor. immigrants allowed business to get off paying very little wages. this maximized profits and grew the economy (proud)
Political immigration
Laws were put in place to regulate immigration. acceptance into the US got harder and harder to acquire. Immigrants went through a tough process in order to be allowed in. (shame)
Social and Cultural immigration
Immigrants that were allowed into the US were often crammed into tenement housing. This was very unsanitary and uncomfortable living. But the living was cheap and in there situation that is what they needed. (shame)
Political Urbanization
The Granger Movement was created because of urbanization. The Movement opted for state control or railroads. The movement took most effect in the northern central states. (proud)
Economic Urbanization
during this period many people were moving into the city. this turned the city into a very crammed and unsanitary place. this required the government to improve cities to accompany the recent growth in population. this was expensive but allowed city growth. (proud)
Social and Cultural urbanization
More and more people were cramming into the cities. this caused very close knit neighborhoods. this inspired a share of ideas and culture. (proud)
Political Progressivism
As America grew problems in politics arose. Problems that made politics more and more unfair. Muckrakers noticed these problems and pointed them out. eventually politics were more fair and just. (proud)
Economic Progressivism
Muckrakers in factories and other forms of industries also existed. These people pointed out unfairness's and injustices. Strict policies were created that helped grow the economy (proud)
Political Imperialism
As the US grew its empire it took in new nations as allies. Politics were centered around negotiating with these nations the terms of there alliance. these negotiations would include terms of trade, extent of control, and war alliances.
Economic Imperialization
Imperialism made the US build its empire and get more allies. As the US grew it's allies provided trade. This trade grew the flow of money through the economy.
Social and Cultural Imperialism
As The US became more imperialistic it got more allies. As it took control of them it spread cultural traits. These traits included things like a democratic government and even a new language.
Political aspect of world war I
Politics during world war one were centered around the question of if the US should get involved. Some politicians wanted to get involved and show that we were a world power. Others wanted to stay neutral and avoid conflict.
Economic aspect of World war I
The war stressed the economy. All the resources required by the war were expensive. The government had to put all of its money into paying for the war effort.
Social and Cultural aspect of World war I
The war was felt at home but in a different way. A large amount of the population was put to work in factories to strengthen the war effort. People would make clothing for the soldiers and work in factories where war machinery were made
