Student Checkout Information
Students (1st thru 4th) will begin checking out library books next week, beginning Monday, August 31st. First and second grade will bring home one book next week and third and fourth graders will bring home two books.
Please be on the lookout for your child's library folder. The folder will come home in a week or two and we are asking parents to read and sign the Honor Code page at the front of the folder. Please return the folder to school ASAP.
Accelerated Reading (AR) Will Begin Soon
Starting Monday, August 31st students will begin taking the STAR reading test. This test will determine your child's reading level. Once we have their reading level, they will checkout a library book within this level. Your child should read this book at home and return to school to take a quiz over that book. Each passing quiz will allow your child to earn points toward his/her reading goal and the chance to attend our Royal Reading Celebration at the end of the school year.
Parents, please see the link to Parent Connect on our Ney Student Symbaloo (bottom of newsletter). This is a great way to keep track of your child's AR progress at home!
