South Sudan

South Sudan is a country in northeastern Africa that gained the independence from Sudan in 2001.The current capital is Juba.The official language is English, but are 60 indigenous languages.

South Sudanese Civil War

The South Sudanese Civil War is a conflict in South Sudan between forces of the government and opposition forces.

The war started last December between forces loyal to president Salva Kiir and forces loyal to his former vice president, Riek Machar.

Some estimates suggest the war has already left as many as 50,000 dead and almost 2 million displaced.

Armed groups are fragmenting and many are now beyond Kiir and Machar control.

The agreement

In late August 2015, Salvar Kiir signed a peace agreement previously signed by Riek Machar called the "Compromise Peace Agreement"

The agreement would make Riek Machar the vice-president again.

The war ended but are peole that are disagree with this peace agreement and is a very big crisis at the moment.
