South Grove Intermediate School
News and Notes for January
From Mrs. Reid
Happy New Year South Grove Family! 2016 is going to be a great year! It is important that students start the year off right by being at school each day on time. Coming off of break, students need to get back on a schedule with homework and bedtime. It is also important for students to read each night. A good practice is to turn the TV off an hour before bedtime and read for 20-30 minutes. This helps the mind wind down and for the brain to shut down for the night. Good evening habits for students translates to great days of learning!
Our best to all of our South Grove Families in 2016!

Google Expeditions come to South Grove!
South Grove was selected as one of the schools in central Indiana to participate in this pilot program being tested around the globe. It was awesome to hear students' reactions to the incredible sights seen using Google Cardboard and the Explorer app. One teacher stated, "We had so much fun doing this, and we learned something too!" Another said, "My kids were so excited and just loved it... We only wish we could have had another hour (or three!). The best was watching my kids in the Congo looking around and then jumping when they saw the gorilla. They about fell out of their seats!"
Thank you for supporting our December Servant's Heart project!
