What you really need to know
Thanks for your participation in our ABC countdown! I hope the kids are having fun and everyone got their sheets back :) Coming up this week we will have no events that require home prep. The following week we will have several.
6/5: Pajama Day
6/8: Rainbow day (clothing, hair, face paint, have fun!)
6/9: Sunglasses and snack
Another important upcoming special event will be our Portfolio Day! You will have the opportunity to come view a collection of your child's work over the course of the year. Please save the date: Thursday, June 15 in our classroom 8:45-9:05. Young siblings welcome.
Thanks for your ridiculously high level of participation in Scholastic book orders this year! Not only are you getting great stuff for your kids, you are also helping me collect lots of great bonus learning materials for the classroom. I just ordered giant magnetic pattern blocks, unifix cube counting and building cards and a few extra books about transitioning to first grade with all of the bonus points we have earned. I would order a vacation if that was in the catalog, but that would be unethical. The K-C kids and I thank you for your support, as always.
Special thanks to Cynthia's mom, Candy, who came in to teach us lots of Mandarin vocabulary and greetings. Xie Xie!
Big Congrats to our newest 6 year olds, Will and Atticus!!

All in a days work...
- Our tadpoles have turned into baby frogs and were released into the wild. We are now hosting Amber the corn snake. We met her up close and had an opportunity to touch her scales! Our plants are blooming too. Soon you will have your own Eliot variety grass to plant in your garden at home.
- Also in science news, we have continued our water studies with a walking water color mixing experiment, water tubes in our sensory table and an ice cube experience for Ii day.
- Our number studies are focused on gaining fluency in adding and subtracting, using the number line as a problem solving tool and playing games to help us remember which way is plus and which way is minus on the number line.
- Our weekend news has become a real source of pride for students and teachers alike! Their stories are detailed and colorful and their writing is becoming more conventional every day. You will see the growth since the beginning of the year when you view our portfolios.
- We have been enjoying fun projects and stories to match our alphabet themes each day.

The things kids say. For real.
I also suggest we make an effort to make it a no Interrupting day! Since interrupting is a thing in kindergarten. It doesn't bug me at all. Just saying.
