Construction Update
Meetings were held this week regarding the start of construction on the BHS Educational Center for the Arts. This was part of the Bond package voters approved in May of 2022. There will be phases of this construction plan that will start at different times. Phase 1 will be the construction of a temporary parking lot for students. This lot will be built to the east of the current entrance to BHS and will extend back toward the tennis courts and weight room - ending approximately even with the exit doors at the end of "A" hallway. Construction of the temporary parking lot is expected to begin next week and will take approximately one month.
Once the temporary lot is complete, the current lot will be fenced and turned into a construction zone. At that time, students will begin parking in the temporary lot.
After fencing is in place, the current student parking lot will be taken up and construction on utilities for the new ECA will begin, with the building to follow.
Check back for more exact dates of these changes as the construction process progresses.
