With just three weeks until winter break, we are looking forward to working together on our Adopt-A-Family campaign to support local families in need. We are also excited about the Kindness Challenge to help Spread Kindness this December. See below for the Kindness Challenge calendar and join us #TMSBeTheGood!

Private opportunity for viewing the Angst Movie...
We recognize that some of our families were unable to attend the community screening of Angst, therefore, we have partnered with IndieFlix to make the film, discussion guide, tip sheet, and access to the filmmakers available only for members of our school for a limited time, December 1 - 7, 2019 (expiring at midnight). You will be able to watch as a Private-Pay-Per-View for a fee of $25. This access is strictly reserved for our families and 8% ($2) from every purchase goes back to our school.
After purchase, the Angst Private-Pay-Per-View Program includes:

Adopt-A-Family - "STRANGER (Things) SHOWDOWN"
TMS Showdown is NEXT WEEK - Friday, December. 13th! This week, students have the opportunity to vote for the game that their grade level will be playing. The options are basketball, volleyball, and dodgeball.
In order to vote, students can:
1) Bring $1 to lunch.
2) Place the $1 into the sport of their choosing for their grade. *Students can vote as many times as they wish. Bills that are greater than $1 (i.e. $5), will count as 5 votes!
We will announce the winning sport on Thursday afternoon, and students will have the opportunity to be in a raffle next week to play against the faculty.
SHOWDOWN EVENT: Friday, December 13th from 6-8 pm at TMS. The night will be filled with student v. faculty games and relays, snacks from Scoops Ahoy, and raffles.
WHO CAN ATTEND: ALL TMS students and staff are invited to attend and participate!
Best wishes to the 8th Grade Girls Basketball Team at IESA Tournament
The team is seeded as the #2 team and has a by for the first round. This is such an amazing accomplishment and we are so proud of them!
The game will be on Tuesday, December 3 at 5:45 at Barrington Station Middle School. The address is: 215 S Eastern Ave, Barrington, IL 60010.

ONLINE REPORTING via TMS Homepage:
Click the ONLINE ABSENCE REPORTING BUTTON located on the TMS homepage and complete the details on your child's absence.
PHONE CALL TO REPORT AN ABSENCE:
1) Call the Thomas School phone number at 847-398-4260.
2) The auto-attendant will prompt you with these options:
- Press 1 to report an absence
- Press 2 to contact the school nurse
- Press 0 to remain on the line for the office.
3) Press 1 and report your child's absence.
Important Notes on Attendance:
*If a student is not in attendance during the school day, that student is not permitted to attend any of the school-sponsored after school activities on that day. This includes all extra-curricular events such as athletic events, performances, on that day. Should a concern with this arise, please contact a TMS administrator.
*The Arlington Heights District 25 School Board of Education Policy 7:70 states, “Administration shall manage an absenteeism and truancy program in accordance with the School Code and Board policy.” Throughout the school year, the school staff will try to connect with parents regarding attendance or tardy concerns to see how we can help. In addition, at the end of each quarter, we will send home a letter notifying parents of ALL students who have missed more than 5% of the school year or have been tardy for more than 5% of the school year. The goal of these letters is to raise awareness and offer support for improved attendance.
