Principal's Corner: Parent Updates & Reminders
Greetings Panda Families,
Thank you to all the parents that supported and allowed your child to participate in the Black History: I Am Video Presentations. Our students looked absolutely amazing and shared invaluable information about Historical Figures in African American History. If you have not viewed the presentation, please check out the link: https://youtu.be/FlnoJfWV6lY
Additionally, there are quite a few important reminders that I want to bring to your attention. Tomorrow, the Church at Chapel Hill Atlanta Location will be having its Mobile Food Pantry from 10:00 am -12:00 pm (while supplies last). We are also kicking off Literacy Week. Our theme is: “Finding Ourselves in the Books We Read”. Each day our Pandas will participate in literacy activities and be exposed to books of various genres. Please see the details below.
We will also be kicking our our Attendance Matters Contest for the month of March. Students with perfect attendance during the month of March will be entered into a raffle to win a 10 inch tablet or 32 inch TV. Please don’t let your child miss out on this! Make sure you Panda comes to school everyday! See more information in our Social Worker Corner.
Lastly, thank you all for attending our Virtual Awards Day Programs. Parents of Virtual Learners will be able to pick up their student’s certificates on Wednesdays during our Meal distributions from 8:30 am- 9:30 am in the carpool lane.
Parent Covid Reporting
Additionally, as I shared earlier this week via email and Class Dojo, there have been two student positive cases of Covid-19 at Brookview. Please be reminded that if you or someone in your home are exhibiting any covid related symptoms, please get tested and keep your child(ren) at home and get them tested if symptoms develop. Please also be reminded that if you or anyone in your home has been tested, are awaiting pending results, or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for Covid, parent covid reporting is required per FCS policy.
The Fulton County Board of Health and Fulton County Schools have developed an on-line portal for FCS parents/guardians to report student COVID-19 related cases. The portal can be found at www.fultonschools.org/ReportCOVID.
Please make a report to the FCBOH when your student is COVID-19 positive, has a pending COVID-19 test result, or has been in direct contact with a COVID-19 positive person. Again, if a parent or someone else in the home has tested positive for COVID-19, please DO NOT send your child(ren) to school or any school sponsored event. Please let me know if you are completing an official report to the FCBOH.
As always, I want to thank you all for staying connected to Brookview. Please stay safe, following social distancing guidelines, and wear your mask. Don’t forget to check out www.fultonschools.org, Class Dojo, and Brookview’s website for updates.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Your Principal and Partner,
Jovita G. Wallace

Brookview Parent & Family Engagement Plan and School-Family Compacts
Greetings Parents and Families,
Attached below, you will find our school wide Parental and Family Engagement Policy, which has been developed jointly with, and agreed on with, parents of children participating in the Title I, Part A programs. This policy was adopted by Brookview Elementary School on October 2, 2020 and will be in effect for the period of 2020-2021 school year. Brookview Elementary will distribute this policy to all parents of participating Title I, Part A children on or before October 15, 2020 and will be placed on the school website.
Also attached you will find Brookview's School-Family Compact, which was jointly developed by our teachers and parents. The compact outlines the shared responsibilities of parents, students, teachers, and administrators for student academic achievement. The compact also outlines how the school and parents will develop a partnership for student success. School-Family compacts will be placed on the school website at the beginning of the year.
Please review this information with your student(s).
