Spring is just around the corner, and here at LHS we are already getting into the "spirit" of things, starting with March Madness. Get ready for a month filled with school spirit, fun, and friendly competition, as well as other exciting events! Read on below to find out what's coming up in the next couple of weeks.

Who's Side Are You On?

March Madness is here! Students, teachers, and staff with last names A-K are on team #RED and those with last names L-Z are on team #WHITE. Follow #LHSMadness on Twitter for daily updates, pictures, and event information! When sharing on Twitter, please use the hashtag (#) for your team and tag #LHS Madness for all Red and White activities.

Save your tickets for all after school LHS events, because your attendance will count as points for your team.

So You Think You Can Sing?

“So You Think You Can Sing” is tonight, March 3rd. The event will feature about 20 acts, including teacher groups! Groups can be made up of 1, 2, or 3 people. Tickets are $5 at the door.

Prom Fashion Show

Lord & Taylor at Quakerbridge Mall will be hosting a prom fashion show on Saturday, March 5th from 12:00-4:00 p.m. and has chosen 40+ students from LHS to walk the runway to model their latest prom fashions!

Hairspray, the Musical

This year's spring musical is HAIRSPRAY! The show will run March 10-12 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets will be available online staring February 17th ($8 for students and senior citizens, $10 for adults). All tickets at the door will be $10.

Spring Forward

Daylight Savings Time Begins on Sunday, March 13th. Don't forget to turn your clocks an hour ahead!

Pancake Breakfast

Support LHS Project Graduation by enjoying a pancake breakfast on Sunday, March 13th from 8:00-10:00 a.m. at Applebee's in Lawrenceville. Tickets will be on sale ($7 donation per person) on March 2nd and March 9th outside the LHS Auditorium from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Visit and Like us on Facebook (Lawrence - Mr. LHS).

Brave the Shave

Join Mr. Adam and the LHS St. Baldrick’s team at Amalfi's on March 12th as they go bald to raise money for children's cancer research. Sign up to be a shavee, a volunteer, or to donate:

U.S. Air Force to Perform Free Concert at LHS

Enjoy a FREE concert given by the United States Air Force Rhythm in Blue jazz ensemble on Wednesday, March 16th at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium. Although free, the concert requires tickets. It’s easy! Go to the online ticketing site to register/order your tickets:

Renaissance: The Big Show!

Sponsored by Student Council, Renaissance recognizes student achievement. Students with a 2.5+ GPA, no discipline, and no unexcused tardies will qualify for the big event. Stay tuned for more information.



St. Cyr Receives High Honor

Senior Prince St. Cyr has been named an honoree at the 54th Annual George Wah Scholar-Leader-Athlete Awards Dinner being held on March 13th at the Hyatt Regency in Princeton. Check out the article run by the Trentonian on February 26th by clicking HERE.

Senior ice hockey forward, Brian Reznikov, was named a New Jersey Devil's High School Player-of-the-Month for the month of February! Artworks of Trenton will be hosting the art of LHS teacher Sean Carney in his exhibition, “It’s All Wood,” from March 5th – April 2nd. For more information, please visit

Cap & Gown Late Orders

Herff Jones was here this week measuring for graduation caps and gowns and taking orders. If you missed them on Monday and Tuesday, you can still order by phone or online. Pick up an order form in the Main Office ASAP. Please remember that orders placed late will now have a slight price increase.

Ushers Needed

LTEF Handbag Bingo

Attention Parents! The LTEF presents Handbag Bingo on Friday, March 11th from 6:30-10:00 p.m. Admission includes 3 cards per game for 8 games of bingo. All bingo prizes are designer handbags! There will also be ticket raffles, a 50/50 raffle, door prizes, and more. Coffee and dessert are included. Click HERE to purchase tickets.

Parent-Teacher Conference Scheduling

The online scheduling portal for Spring Conferences will be open from Monday, March 21st through Wednesday, April 6th. You will be able to access this portal by visiting the LHS website ( and clicking on "Scheduling for Parent-Teacher Conferences" under Quick Links. Conference appointments will be held in 10-minute intervals. If you require assistance with scheduling, please contact your child's counselor.

Conferences will be held on Wednesday, April 20th from 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame...

The Music Department is taking over the Trenton Thunder on April 7th! Come out to the stadium for Opening Day and support the Band and Choirs. Tickets are $10 for LTPS students and faculty and can be purchased in advance through the Music Department.
