Your WestWood PTC Update

We are thankful for November 2017!

Hooray for a successful Read-a-thon!

Our annual Read-a-thon fundraiser has exceeded our goal! Awesome!!! The Amazing Race had cars racing for each grade, the school enjoyed a cookie party, a few teachers are anticipating their duct-taped-to-the-wall experiences, and the popcorn is still fresh for the classes who earned their popcorn parties! Next up: ordering rollerblades! Thanks for making it an exciting time at WestWood. And that was all in addition to the READING FUN the kids had last week with themed rooms and dedicated reading time!

THANK YOU - THANK YOU - THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the Read-a-thon a success. Volunteer MELISSA CAMPION, with a smile on her face, visited WestWood almost DAILY to help gather envelopes and move cars forward. Erica Delain and Tony Hauschildt helped keep it rolling. CLASSROOM TEACHERS helped manage the prizes and incoming envelopes and made creative reading stations! BEVERLY and KIRSTEN in the office helped track envelopes and send updates! AND OF COURSE, OUR DONORS HELPED MAKE OUR LARGEST FUNDRAISING EVENT OF THE YEAR A GREAT SUCCESS - THANK YOU!

Read-a-thon Sponsors also need a THANK YOU for helping us with prizes, printing, and more! Thumbs up to Wells Fargo, Toppers Pizza, Eileen’s Colossal Cookies, Culver’s, Hyvee, Minuteman Press, Air Maxx, Conquer Ninja Warrior, Twin Cities Escape Rooms, and Dairy Queen!

Conference Dinners for our teachers are happening during the late-night conferences this week and next week. Thank you for your contributions to keep our teachers well fed and appreciated!

Give to the Max Day is this Thursday, November 16. For anyone who missed the Read-a-thon or prefers to donate with the option of matching prizes and raffle tickets, please feel free! While we are not doing a large Give to the Max campaign due to the success of the Read-a-thon, our information is still listed and can be shared with others as you wish. Scheduling a gift before Thursday is an option too.
