Jordan's Monthly Pathway News - October 2018

Reports are in! Back to School Night was a success!

Due to popular demand, Jordan brought back Pathway Orientation to Back to School Night. Each Pathway presented a 30 minute overview and Q&A session before classroom visits began. This allowed families to have a deeper experience and understanding of the their child's pathway and sequence of industry related courses. Thank you Pathway teams for putting together such a great event!

J-Town Staff & Students Represent Pathways at Choice Fair

Rain or Shine was the call of Choice Fair this year. Regardless of the weather, Jordan staff and students were spreading the news about the programs Jordan offers. A big community turn out made for many opportunities to begin new relationships with prospective students and their families. This translated into 95 students signing up for Jordan Shadow Day in less than 24 hours, filling all of our openings!

A HUGE thank you to our J-Town staff and students who worked so hard, putting together Pathway booths that were interactive and informative! Jordan was the only school to have interactive activities in most every booth! Great job team!

Student Ambassadors in the Community

Jordan Linked Learning Student Ambassadors headed out to Addams Elementary School to help with their Literacy Night. Our students had the opportunity to spend time talking to students and families, answering questions about the transition to high school and what they can look forward to. Working with our neighboring schools helps to build a strong sense of community in Uptown. Way to go Panthers!

Pathway Workshops

November 15

8th Grade Shadow Day Re-mix!

This year, Jordan will conduct Pathway Workshops for our future students. A bus will pick up 8th grade students from our feeder schools (Hamilton, Powell, Lindsey, & Lindbergh). The students will be treated to a red carpet welcome by our cheer team and band and served lunch, while they watch a special edition J-Town Update made just for them!

Led by our student ambassadors, the students will visit each pathway in a 25 minute rotation; receive a brief overview of the pathway, and participate in an interactive activity.

After a fun-filled and informative day, the bus will return the students to their school.
