Boosterthon Update

We had lots of fun at the Glow Fun Run! Thanks to PTO for organizing this event. And thanks also to our fantastic families who pledged and showed up to cheer our runners on!

The Glow Run was a HUGE SUCCESS! Thank you for all your help over these past two weeks! We’ve loved getting to learn the brand new character lessons with this years Mind Spark Mystery Lab powered by our Boosterthon team.

We have one more extra special challenge for our Oasis Elementary Family this weekend!

Any student that gets a $1 Pledge-Per-Lap OR a $30 Flat rate donation over the weekend. (The window of opportunity is September 14 at 3 pm until September 17 at 8am). Will be entered into a raffle.

One student will be chosen at random from the raffle to receive:

Book News from Mrs. Gamboa

Rainbow Reading Bingo Cards

Mrs. Gamboa is accepting the red Rainbow Reading Bingo Cards in the library during your child's Library Special. If you need a replacement red bingo card, please email her and she will send the log home with your child.

This reading program is a wonderful way to get your child excited about reading. When your child turns in the log, they will spin the prize wheel, and receive the next bingo card.

SSYRA Jr. Reading Program

When your child reads an SSYRA Jr. book and it is recorded on the Rainbow Reading Bingo card, it will not automatically count toward the SSYRA Jr. Reading Program. Children in Kindergarten will require a separate note to the teacher stating the book was read to the child. As for students in First and Second Grades, they must take an AR test and earn 70% or higher and then advise their teacher of this accomplishment. In turn, the teacher will record this information on the child's SSYRA Jr. Reading Log.

One School One Book (K-2)

JOIN OASIS ELEMENTARY STUDENTS Kindergarten, First and Second Grade

AS WE ALL READ THE SAME BOOK. (A book for 3rd thru 5th will be announced soon)

Starting October 8 - October 16, as a home read aloud, students in grades K-2 will enjoy Hilde Cracks the Case Hero Dog! (a state nominated SSYRA Jr. book) This is optional, but it is a great way to get involved with reading these books. It will also fulfill one of the boxes on the Reading Rainbow Bingo sheet and a book on their SSYRA Jr. Reading Log.

Use this order form to purchase the book and extra commemorative buttons. A hard copy will also be sent home.

Please return no later than Friday, September 21, 2018.

Thank you for supporting your children as they find the joy in reading.
