ST. NICHOLAS FEAST DAY

This Sunday, December 6th is the Feast Day of St. Nicholas. St. Nicholas was the Bishop of Myra, Turkey. He was widely known for his generosity and compassion for the poor. St. Nicholas often performed works of mercy secretly, so no one would be embarrassed by receiving help. Let us follow in St. Nicholas' footsteps this Advent season and give to others in need. St. Nicholas, pray for us.

ICCS will celebrate St. Nicholas' Feast Day tomorrow with a special tradition and activity that has taken place at our school for many years. After morning announcements, students and teachers will place one shoe in the hallway. In the spirit of St. Nicholas' generosity, the shoes will be filled with treasures and treats for all.

RECYCLE OR REUSE ACTIVITY

Mrs. Lori Brown's 2nd Grade class recently studied about the importance of recycling and reusing items. Students collected items from home that may have normally ended up in the garbage and made fun pieces out of them. Photos of the student's creations are posted on the ICCS Facebook page.

ADVENT BLESSING

A special thank you to Father Andy DeRouen and Mrs. Danielle Koenig and Ms. Kimberly Wilson's 1st Grade students for leading our Advent Blessing this week.

3RD GRADE ART PROJECT

Ms. Vanchiere’s 3rd Grade Art students recently learned about Pop Art and artists like Wayne Thiebaud, an American painter known for his colorful works depicting commonplace objects such as pies, ice cream cones, pastries, hot dogs and much more! The students created their own Pop Art masterpieces. Check out some of their awesome work on the ICCS Facebook page.

PRAYER AGAINST THE CORONAVIRUS

O Mary, you shine continuously along our journey as a sign of salvation and hope.

We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who at the Cross were near to the pain of Jesus, keeping your faith firm.

You, Salvation of the Roman people, know what we need, and we trust that you will provide for those needs so that, as at Cana of Galilee, joy and celebration may return after this moment of trial.

Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the will of the Father and to do what Jesus tells us, He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and took up our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen.

We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.
