Happy Four Day Weekend!
I hope everyone is keeping warm and enjoying this nice little break. As we approach the next Benchmark Exams (on Feb. 29 and March 1) and the End of Course Exams (starting April 28), it is a good idea to expose students to the types of problems they may see on these exams. To assist with this, I have created a Google Drive Folder with several resources in it:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B09UQQAaCurhZ3hCZzdVZHZ0a3MThe Quality Core folder contains a tutorial for logging into the ACT Quality Core website to create your own tests using Quality Core questions. I have also created pdf files with collections of problems for each Quality Core objective of each subject in case you would rather just look through them that way. You can easily use the snipping tool to paste sample problems into your lessons, quizzes, tests, etc.
The Reading and Writing in Math Folder contains resources we have talked about at some of the Vertical Team meetings this year, including graphic organizers, reciprocal teaching, and others.
I also plan to add other resources and teaching ideas to this folder in an attempt to gather a lot of useful resources into one place.
As I travel around, I have seen lots of creative teaching ideas and I would like to create a mechanism for sharing our ideas with each other so that all of our students can benefit from our collective creativity!! If you have lessons or activities that you really like, please send them to me so that I can add them to the Google Drive Folder to make them accessible to all.
