First 100 SHS Students FREE on Saturday

The first 100 SHS Students will be admitted into this Saturday's Semi Final Football Game for Free! This is due to a very generous donation from Tyson and Suzie Hull. Game starts at 1:00 p.m. All students, after the first 100, will be required to pay the $5.00 student entry fee. No family, individual or booster club passes will be accepted at this playoff game.

After School Fundraiser

SHS Performing Arts and After Prom Hot Chocolate Bake sale December 8th, 9th and 10th. Warm up after school with a cup of hot chocolate and a delicious dessert!

SHS Performing Arts Fundraiser: G5 food Truck at the Severance Christmas Festival

G5 Food Truck is partnering with SHS Performing Arts for a Fundraiser on December 11th at the Severance Christmas Festival 3-6pm; Come support SHS Performing Arts. They will be selling chili cheese nachos during the festival.

SHS-FAMILY HOLIDAY NEEDS

With the Holiday season right around the corner, if you could benefit from a holiday food bag - please contact the counseling office at 970-833-7120.


Weekly food bags for families experiencing a food shortage are also available through the Weld Food Bank and can be set up/picked up through the SHS Counseling office.

Seniors: Bright Futures

Seniors: here is a step-by-step video with instructions on how to apply for the Bright Futures Grant.

Bright Futures is a grant available to Weld County students that provides $2,000 per year towards tuition at 2-4 year colleges/universities and trade school certificate programs. Funds can be used towards tuition in Colorado and bordering states. To apply for the grant you must:

  • Be a Weld County resident for two years of high school, one being your senior year

  • Complete the mandatory meeting

  • Complete your FAFSA

  • Complete 16 hours of community service annually

    • Class of 2022 can submit hours between May 16, 2021 and May 15, 2022

  • The grant must be started within 2 years of GED or graduation and completed within 6 years

Poudre Valley REA Scholarship Program

Poudre Valley REA offers a scholarship program for seniors and two awesome student trips – Electric Cooperative Youth Tour in Washington D.C. and Leadership Camp in Steamboat Springs. Students selected to go on either trip attend for FREE!

Work-based Learning/Job Opportunities:

Technician: TT Electronics, Loveland - Offering electronic solutions for industrial needs, this company is currently hiring. Hands-on job opportunities working in a manufacturing environment building switchmode transformers. Training is provided. Available to juniors and seniors. Must be at least 17 years old. Personal Caregiver: Pelican Pointe Health and Rehabilitation Center, Windsor - Meeting healthcare needs, this company is currently hiring. Helps residents maintain a neat, orderly and comfortable room by making beds, assisting with clothing, filling water pitchers, assisting residents in moving throughout the facility by pushing wheelchairs, making unoccupied beds, responding to call lights to determine needs, and other duties as assigned. Qualified applicants will need to successfully complete an internal CNA Training course within 60 days of hire with licensure completed 120 days following class completion. Would be under the direct supervision of an RN, LPN or LVN. Must be at least 17 years old to apply. Shift work may be required. Patient Care Assistant - UCHealth, (Positions available at all UCHealth Hospitals in Northern Colorado) - Meeting acute care needs, this company is currently hiring. The PCA role is ideal for those looking for opportunities to work in an acute care hospital setting, but have little to no previous healthcare experience. PCA's will receive 6 weeks of on-the-job paid training and orientation. There are full-time, part-time and PRN position options available. Must be at least 18 years old to apply. Tickets are free to Weld-Re4 students and their families and can be picked up in the front office of your child's school. Community members can purchase tickets for $5.00 at the Clearview library or at the door on December 4th.
