GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY "BUILD A PLAYGROUND"

Dear Harmony Families and Friends,

Help Harmony School of Enrichment build a playground in partnership with KaBOOM! and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas!

This is also a great opportunity for our high school students concerning volunteer hours.

Project Graduation 2020

ATTENTION SENIORS: All seniors are required to pay an $80 graduation fee. The fee can be paid in full or in 3 installments over the next 3 quarters. You will pay this fee online using the RevTrack system or at the front desk. This fee covers the cost of the student’s cap, gown, chords, diploma, diploma cover, transcripts, and 5 (max) graduation tickets for guests. This fee is mandatory for any student attending graduation and cannot be modified. The first installment of $30 is due at the end of Quarter 1 (October 21st). Failure to pay in full by the end of Quarter 3 will result in you not being able to "walk" during the graduation ceremony.
Reminder: Seniors do NOT need to order a cap and gown. The cost of the cap and gown in included in the senior fees and will be ordered and distributed by the school.

Hispanic Heritage Festival

Dear Parents/Guardians;

We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting our 1st Hispanic Heritage Festival for our Harmony Schools North Houston family on Saturday, October 26th from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Harmony School Of Excellence, 7340 Gessner Rd, Houston, TX 77040


Our intention is to promote greater awareness and appreciation among our students, parents, and staff for the different Hispanic cultures represented in our community. In turn, we are optimistic that this will promote greater respect for cultural differences. We invite all of our families to join us on this upcoming event for celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.


It will be a fun day! Raffles, Pinatas, Live music Mariachis, Chinelos de Morelos, Coco characters, a Parade of flags, students performances and much more.

Do you know a girl who has a unique business idea or is already running a business?

It’s an amazing day of empowerment and excitement for all girls, ages 8-18, where they will have a chance to pitch their ideas to judges and compete on stage to win a grand prize of $1,000.

Advancement Fall Concert

The Music Department will be having their Fall Concert Wednesday, October 16th at 7:30 in room 401 at HS Advancement. The concert will feature the Guitar Ensembles, Orchestra, and Choir.


Admission is free and open to the public.

Big picture
Dress-code rules must be followed on all dress days. Students who are not in the dress-code will be sent to the front office for appropriate attire. Participants must purchase a band in the bus lobby before the first block.

SCHOOL WIDE TESTING DAY

Dear HSAdvancement Families and Students,

The PSAT and PSAT-NMSQT tests will be administrated on October 16, 2019, at 7:55 am.

Parents, make sure your child has enough sleep and eat breakfast and be on time to school.

Students, check the testing roster before the testing day to find your testing room.

AP EXAM REGISTRATION

Dear AP Student/Parent,

Harmony Public Schools has released information regarding updated budgets that include AP exam fees. You will pay NO FEES for your AP exams for the 2019-2020 school year. If you have already registered and paid for your exams through our Total Registration webpage, your exam fees will be refunded directly by Total Registration.

Students, you will need to be sure you have created a College Board account and joined your AP teacher's section as exams will be ordered based on your registration through College Board. Each AP teacher has an online College Board section. If you need the join code for your class or any additional information, please contact your AP teacher as soon as possible.

Again, refunds to those who have paid online for exams will be completed automatically by the Total Registration website; please give the company time to process these refunds. You will receive an email confirmation once your refund has been completed.

NASA’s High School Aerospace Scholars

NASA’s High School Aerospace Scholars (HAS) applications are now open!

HAS is an authentic learning experience for Texas high school juniors to engage with NASA’s mission to become the next generation of explorers. Students are able to learn about different STEM-related fields of study they might want to pursue in college. Following a series of online lessons, highest achieving students will be invited to an all-expenses-paid, week-long visit to NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston during the summer. Selected participants will plan a mission to Mars while being mentored and receiving guidance from NASA scientists and engineers. Both the online and onsite portions are free to participants.

Applications are available for students beginning September 10, 2019, through October 23, 2019.

Harmony-wide Chess Competition

We are excited to announce that Houston North is organizing the first Harmony-wide Chess competition. There are limited spots. First come, first serve. If you are a chess player with USCF rating over 900, please e-mail sonel@harmonytx.org for more info.

Pick a competition, read the More Information page for details and see how to borrow a competition set of cubes, and start practicing. Awards are handed out for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams and soloists in each division: Division 1 (Grades K-5), Division 2 (Grades 6-8), & Division 3 (Grades 9-12).
