National Teacher Appreciation Week
Since 1984, National PTA has designated one week in May as a special time to honor the men and women who lend their passion and skills to educating our children. May 4-8 has been designed at Teacher Appreciation Week.
Join the Tuscaloosa City Schools in saluting teachers who have risen to the occasion, developed and implemented new teaching strategies during this key time by sharing your support on social media using the hashtag #ThankATeacher or by expressing appreciation to your child's teacher directly.
Battle of the Books
All middle schools held a school-level competition last week, with the top 5 students advancing to the TCS BOB Tuesday afternoon. The 2020 TCS BOB champion was Northridge Middle School, Eastwood Middle finished second, Tuscaloosa Magnet Schools-Middle finished third, followed by The Alberta School of Performing Arts
The titles students read include:

Deadline Approaching for Early Graduation
The Tuscaloosa City Board of Education authorizes early graduation for high school seniors who have successfully met the system’s graduation requirements and can demonstrate College and Career Readiness.
Qualifying juniors and their families can learn more about the opportunity and download the application form which shall be completed by the end of the junior year and returned to the school counselor.
