A Note from Mrs. Syre-Hager
Dear Elementary Parents and Guardians,
We continue to appreciate the time and attention you have provided your children as they navigate remote learning.
We have made good progress with the use of Google Classroom. Many of our older students have learned to use the tool to complete and submit work. For the younger children, family members have taken on elements of the learning platform to share pictures and audio recordings. Thank you for persevering. We understand that assignments get done when they get done. If you see “late” for your child’s work, it is ok. Your child will not be penalized. Simply submit the work when it is complete. As always, continue to communicate with your child’s teacher regarding any questions or concerns.
While we have made progress in some areas, we continue to ask for your input. If you have not already completed the survey Dr. Saunders shared earlier this week, please fill out this survey to provide feedback about the remote learning experience for you and your family.
Great news! For families receiving breakfast and lunch through the district food service, this will continue through June. As the temperature rises, remember these meals contain dairy, fresh produce, and meat, and can’t be left outside. Please make sure bags are picked up soon after delivery so the food doesn’t spoil. There aren’t any income guidelines to meet to receive these meals, and they are available for anyone 18 or younger who resides in any of ConVal’s nine towns.
Please contact Lori Schmidt at lschmidt@conval.edu if you would like to receive these meals, need to make any changes to your delivery, or have experienced a change in financial position and you would like to apply for meal assistance that will carry into the beginning of the next school year.
As we enter May, we have gotten a number of inquiries regarding traditional end of the year celebrations. The administrative team along with classroom teachers and PTO are looking at which traditions can be done virtually and making adjustments accordingly. As we finalize our plans, we will share them with you.
Below, you will find some pictures that were shared with me during our spirit week. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have. Antrim Eagles soar!
Happy May,
Stephanie
