RANDLE HIGH SCHOOL UPDATE
Dear Lions,
I am writing to inform you about the additional targeted learning support that our school will be providing to your child this year semester. This additional support is available after school on Monday and Wednesday and during the school day. We understand that many of our students have responsibilities outside of the school day and staying after school can be difficult challenge for some.
We believe all students will benefit from the small group tutoring support provided in our school through our House Bill 45/45 tutoring program and ELA BLITZ Initiative. Both programs are based on achievement data and other measures of learning, which indicate your child’s expected learning progress. Your child’s progress may have been impacted by remote and flexible learning due to COVID-19 in 2020.
Our small group tutoring support is being provided and coordinated by our English Language Arts (I & II), Math (Algebra I), Science (Biology) departments. Our teachers will begin working with identified students to work on specific skills to help ensure that students are able to perform proficiently on the STAAR End of Course exam. We want to ensure all students understand their progress during the 2021/2022 school year and set goals for future learning as well as achieve a passing score on the STAAR EOC.
Tutoring support will be provided on the following dates:
English I
· February 24th: 1st period through 3rd period
· March 3rd: 5th period through 7th period
· March 9th: 1st period through 3rd period
English II
· February 25th: 5th period through 7th period
· March 4th: 1st period through 3rd period
· March 10th: 5th period through 7th period
Algebra and Biology will begin after Spring Break.
