A MESSAGE FROM ARBOR MANAGEMENT FOOD SERVICE
As the 2020-2021 School Year quickly approaches, we wanted to reach out to all families to communicate what the district food service program will look like when school begins on September 8, 2020.
Each morning that your student is in attendance he/she will be offered a “Grab and Go” bagged breakfast. Each day your student will also be able to order a bagged lunch “Grab and Go” which will be consumed in the cafeteria. If you would like your student to receive school breakfast/lunch on their remote learning day, it will need to be ordered while in person. For example, if your student attends school on an "A" day and you would like them to receive a breakfast/lunch for the next day while they are learning remotely they will need to order the remote day food while at school the day prior. Your student would then be sent home from school with bagged breakfast and lunch. If your student's last day of in-person learning for the week is Wednesday, they will be able to take home Grab and Go breakfast/lunch for Thursday and Friday. If the last day is Thursday, they can take home breakfast/lunch for Friday and Monday.
Currently there is not a USDA waiver available to allow Sandwich School District to continue operating under the Summer Food Service Program (“SFSP”). SFSP has allowed the District to provide universal free breakfast and lunch meals to children ages 18 and younger during the spring.
At the start of School Year 2020-2021, the District will be required to operate under the National School Lunch Program (“NSLP”). This will require the District to provide meals to School District enrolled students only. Students will be charged meals based upon their assigned meal status (“free” “reduced,” and “paid”).
Parents of paid and reduced students will need to load funds onto your students lunch account in the schools Tyler system. Payments will not be accepted at the Point of Service when a student receives a meal so please be sure to upload funds to your student’s account. Please know you will be billed for both the breakfast and lunch as they cannot be separated out.
If your student is a full remote learner, meals will also be available for weekly pick up. Meals will distributed on Monday and Thursday between the hours of 8:30 am until 10:00 am. Meals should be picked up in the back of the Middle School, kitchen door #27. Monday you will receive 3 breakfast and lunch meals, Thursday you will receive 2 breakfast and lunch meals. All meals will need to be pre-ordered Thursdays by 12:00 pm for Monday meal pickup and Wednesdays by 12:00 pm for Thursday meal pickup. To pre-order please call 815-786-8881 or email: email@example.com. Please enter the back of the Middle School through the main parking lot and head north.
If you have any questions regarding the food service program, please contact Linda Alvarez Food Service Director firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone 815-786-8881.
We are looking forward to serving your student!
Lunch Card Negative Balances: We will be sending negative balance reports home as needed. You may check your student’s balance on the Tyler Parent Portal.
