Strings - Ms. Lindler
Rotation- We have a playing test on Friday! We will continue to practice "For Pete's Sake" and continue working through the Essential Elements book. Have a great long weekend!
Focus- I hope everyone has a great long weekend! This week we will continue working through Essential Elements book 2, and working on sight reading techniques!
No School on Monday! Have a safe and enjoyable Labor Day Weekend!
Dance - Mrs. Brewington
7th dance focus: We will finish with folk dances and complete Tinikling choreography and reflection. Please encourage your child to look at google classroom daily. Please visit https://sites.google.com/gwd50.org/actsdance/home
Voice - Mrs. Fennell
Voice students have just finished their first unit of study. Tuesday begins a new unit! We will have an assessment on Friday that will count as a quiz grade. We are beginning to work on Christmas music this week! How exciting! Make sure your calendars are marked for our Christmas concert on December 5 at 6:00 PM. I need 18 more ugly ties for my classroom! Thanks for your donations.

We want to welcome our new strings teacher to ACTS. Her name is Ms. Shelby Lindler! (Hint: front row, 3rd female from the right)
ELA - Mrs. Templeton
In Language Arts we will be writing a personal narrative. We are finishing up study of the characteristics of short stories. We will be reading "The Lottery". We will have a vocabulary and stems quiz weekly.
Science - Mrs. Griffin
The students will be finishing the Ecology 1 Unit and starting on the next part. There will be a small quiz on Wednesday and the Ecology 1 Test on Friday. Any student who will not be here on Friday should make arrangements to complete the test during lunch.
Science MAP Testing for ACTS will take place on Tuesday, September 5th.
Science - Mrs. Sexton
We will be continuing our Ecology lessons. Students will explore carrying capacity, limiting factors, population densities, food chains, food webs, and energy pyramids. We may have a vocabulary quiz this week as well as a warm up quiz. Students should be keeping up with the daily warm ups since these may be used during the warm up quiz.
ELA & Social Studies - Mrs. Owensby
7th Grade ELA
Students will be completing a narrative writing assignment based on our study of nonfiction characteristics of writing. We will also begin a study of the parts of speech and the rules of Standard English. We will begin having assignments on the computer using "No Red Ink".
7th Grade SS
Students will complete their study of European exploration and colonization. They will complete an open book review quiz and create a study guide for the test.
Math - Mr. Smith
7th grade math students are continuing to work on solving problems with ratio and proportion. We took a partner quiz on Friday and these will be returned early next week. Students should plan on a chapter 1 test early in the week September 11th. Tentatively planned for September 11th. Have a good holiday weekend.
Social Studies - Mr. Creswell
We will continue to study the Age of Exploration. Students should expect a test toward the end of the week.
