Principal's Message
Dear Wildcats,
We embark on our first full week of March and a week before our Spring Break. We do have a busy week ahead; several of you have trainings off campus. Make sure you have your subs aligned. Also, others of you are working on refining your action plans to prepare for STAAR. TELPAS testing continues and we will be making 3-5th grade LPAC testing decisions this week. Finally, don't forget to smile on Thursday as we take Spring group photos with our wildcats. Go ahead and relax a little by Friday- come in your appropriate length shorts with a wildcat t-shirt to get ready for a week long SPRING BREAK! Let's do great things for our children- be UNSTOPPABLE!
This week's announcements are here for you.
- PLC: Objective for this week: PLC Thursday: Teachers will closely look at their units in the curriculum, based on recent mastery connect data/PSTAAR data revisit their roadmaps & refresh targeted workstations to personalize for SSE student's need.
- Faculty PLC: This Wednesday, we will convene to discuss 2018-2019 SSE expectations. Spring time can offer an opportunity to begin thinking about professional aspirations, development, and growth. It is also a time to reflect on your personal vision/mission and if it aligns with that of the organization.
- K-2nd Grade: Action required- ensure that weekly your math & science checkpoints are in for mastery connect. Continue to report your weekly guided reading lesson plans in your lesson plan folder.
- 3-5th Grade: Action required for reporting to Weaver. Gardner will be supporting you in the data management. Your job: Enter data into mastery connect and export your excel sheet to Gardner on Thursdays. All teachers must do the following:
- Use Mastery Connect with Daily Warm-Ups or Exit Tickets.
- Use Mastery Connect with one weekly checkpoint (testing multiple readiness TEKS aligned to STAAR), scan no later than Thursday at 4:00 p.m.and email exported information to Gardner by 4:00 p.m.
- Look at data weekly (Fridays) and plan whole/ small group lessons based on data for the following week.
This week, I received this question: Why are we doing this? SSE aligns ourselves to the Data Wise process as a district. We utilize data to inform our next instructional moves. Teachers have the power to select assessments that are rigorous and are tightly aligned to the curriculum they will teach. It is a continuous cycle that should appear weekly, monthly, and/or by unit.
Again, thank you for all you do! You make me so proud!
Wildcat Love,
Rachel Martinez

PBIS and Project Class
Project Class: I am hearing lots of wonderful things from Mrs. Futch and Mrs. Donnally about the great things they are seeing and hearing in your rooms. The way you have embraced Project Class has been a joy to see! Keep up the good work!
PBIS:
Reach Out Pledge begins. Meet with your students and discuss the importance of having someone that they feel comfortable reaching out to when they see or hear something that is concerning or just need someone to talk to. I'll be coming by on Monday to deliver your Reach Out hearts, for those who didn't pick them up on Wednesday. Hearts for each grade level need to be displayed by March 23rd. I will come and take a picture to showcase each grade levels creativity on where and how they displayed their hearts.
