This Is How We Lakeview
April 2023 Edition: Volume 4
Upcoming events for the month of May!
It is hard to believe that Monday starts the last month of the school year. Next week, we will be celebrating National Teachers Appreciation Week. If you have time, please take a minute to drop a note or an email to a teacher that has helped to support your student this year.
May Dance tickets will be available online closer to the actual date of the dance. I will send out the link once they go live. I know that people have been asking about dance details. The actual dance will be from 7:00-9:00 pm.
Rachael Hanagan
Principal

Spring Dance is May 20th!
Have you heard about the Spring Dance? It is a semi-formal dance for Lakeview students that will be held on May 20th from 7:00-9:00 pm. Spring Dance is a special time for our students and their behavior could influence their ability to be able to attend. Lakeview students have to earn the right to be able to attend the dance. Students who receive In-School Study or Out-of-School Suspension starting after Spring Break which is Monday, March 27th and leading up until the day of the dance will not be able to attend. If your student is following our Lakeview values and not engaging in any activities that could get them suspended, then they will be okay to attend. Any questions, please contact Mrs. Hanagan.
Notes on dress code - dress is semi-formal and follows our student dress code, i.e. appropriate length, shirts buttoned, no sagging pants, no undergarments showing, etc. Examples: nice pants (khakis or dress pants) and a shirt (polo or button down), dresses - think nice dress but not like for Prom (no midriff showing, no cut-outs, not backless, try to follow width of 2 fingers for straps). If you have questions or are out shopping, you can always send an email or Talking Points message which will send a notification to Mrs. Hanagan's phone so she should reply quickly.
This is a junior high dance in the cafeteria, this is not like Prom or Homecoming.

Recent Updates
- Due to the wet weather, we pushed our final Club Day of the year to next Friday, May 5th.
- We want to give a big shout out to our School Resource Officer, Deputy Tabitha Stephens, for being named Lakeview's Friend of Education at last night's Friends of Education dinner/ceremony. The annual ceremony is co-hosted by the Pickerington Education Association and the Pickerington Education Foundation, and recognizes a "friend" for each building, honors retirees, and awards grant funding for staff/building projects.
Updates from the Family Feedback Form
- Families seem to love the school supply bundle. We are so glad to hear it!
- One family thanked our three school counselors for coming together to support a student. Mr. Max, Mr. Gill, and Mrs. Geiger listened, coached, and followed up so the student was able to get to a better place. Way to go, counselors!
